I was watching Tina Baker this morning and she commented that it will 'all end in tears' and that she isn't able to divulge at the moment. Does anyone know anything about this character? I think he's a bit shifty! :)

Yes it was Emily's husband he killed. I wonder how Eileen and Ed will split up? Do you think she will automatically dump him after finding out about his past? Maybe it's just a front to get to Emily, but I did think he seemed to feel very guilty for what happened and is trying to make amends.

I can't remember how long ago it was that he killed ernest. But I heard he did go to prison and do the time for his crime. How old was he at the time? Maybe was a teenager when it happened, we don't know the circumstances.

That's what i was thinking. I can briefly remember emily's husband dying it was in the 70's at least 25 years ago therefore he would have had to be really young

Was there not two people involved in the robbery? Maybe he wasn't the one who pulled the trigger. Tina Baker has been away getting married I believe. (someone asked at the begining of the thread)

If I was Emily I wouldn't forgive him. But she has a very forgiving nature, and he's become a christian and church goer, so maybe she'd think it would be right to forgive. As for Eileen, I'd say it would be a lot easier for her to come around to the idea, because it's not something that effected her, and seeing as he was very young at the time.

January 1978.

He went to prison and did time.

He was in his late teens at the time of the botched robbery.

It isn't, though the actor has played a couple of different 'cameo' characters in Corrie before, most recently in 1997.

bit complicated...but.....you remember Terry Duckworth & girlfriend had a baby.....well when that relationship ended ....she (I forget her name...was it Trisha?) eventually went off to Blackpool with the character who is now Ed. Hope that helps

hmmm all seems very complicated to me...i thought ed was maybe sizing up the houses on coronation street and was going to rob them. why would he go back to emily when he left prison? :s
