johnny - the early years

The BBC are to screen a special episode this year on the early years of Johnny Allen like they did with Dot Cotton and Pat and Mo in previous years.

The episode is to be in a late night slot so it doesnt updset tv watchdogs, the special is said to be 'raunchy'.

'The spin-off will be more like The Sweeny and Minder rather than a soap.' a source says. 'It's early days yet but the Beeb dont want to loose such a popular character'

if there was a character crying out for a back story it was Johnny!
does this mean we get to also see Pat, Peggy, Daddy Mitchell who's name i've forgotten, his wife, Scarlet? because one of the things that was odd yet interesting when they brought him in was that a lot of the characters already knew him from the past whereas the audience didn't.

Not a lot other than why they hated each other. There were also some scenes of when they were friends and when Jimmy and Mo were married.
