she is always going on and on how about in the olden days she was doing this... and that...and it was so perfect then,she's always like, it was me,mum,pete auther and we were so happy
we dont want stories like that we want interesting ones like kalfie getting back together,jake and chissi saying flirty comments to each,seeing more of the moons,see what is happening with stacey and ruby and so on
i no pauline has a storyline coming up but they could do with getting rid of her cause she's always moaning and boring and eastenders could do with some better characters!!!

i do agree that pauline who was once a central character in the show now seems to have no part it has spoilt the character she is only there now to interfere and get on sonia and martins nerves - its a waste of wendy richards talens as an established actress they should give her some plots of her own or get rid of her before things get even worse
Oh, Paulines always been boring. Just even more so now because the writers haven't a clue what to do with her character so all there making her do is moan, moan and moan! BORING! :)

Believe me your not the only one who finds her boring I record EE now a days so when I watch it I can fast forward her becuse she irrates me I just can't watch her in case I fall asleep

Hehe - not bad! but how about Dot's just after learning to drive and goes out for a rip around the square and knocks Pauline 20 feet in the air and she lands on authur's "Chair" and is in a coma!

I think that should be the other way round, I love Dot! Although it would be a copy cat storyline, from when Dot helped Ethel.

old people are funny. they seem to remember only the "we were sooooo happy" times. truth be told they were miserable as people are now,maybe even more so.
i will say this for old Pauline, she make my mother-in-law look like a nice person.
could you imgine having Pauline as your mother-in-law? guess it's true you don't just marry one bean but the whole burrito. poor Sonia is all i can say.

Pauline needs a fun loving man who is strong enough to show her how to have a good time and give her a long overdue kick up the back side. In other words to tell her to snap out of it and get out their and find a life. Yes I am bored with Pauline but I adore Dot, she's lovely.

Its not the storyline that bothers me - everyone has a different perspective and thats what EE is trying to show. The problem I have is that Pauline is always moaning or grumbling about something.
I want the police to open an investigation on Arthurs death. I'm sure he did himself in because of Paulines constant moaning.

she was doing my head in at the start when she does all her 'me me me' act so i was glad when sonia shouted her down but then they gave her some good lines i thought.like when she was saying how a working mothers can work all the hours they like but a mother who stays at home works more hours then that basically,also how no matter how old your children get you will never stop being there mum etc.

Too true a good smack might put some sense into her but I very much doubt it
OK she's never happy and is a total misery but I wish they would give her a good storyline where something good does happen to her and we see her happy for a change. She has been in it from day one and to be honest I can't see them axing her - I think it would only be if Wendy Richard decided to leave, its the only way you will see the back of Pauline. I think they are trying to make her into another Lou - but even though Lou moaned she adored her grandkids and had a smile and a hug for them whereas they are focusing too much on the dour face of Pauline.
Derek does care for her and would like to see her happy (he IS gay, he can't TURN gay - reminds me of the BBC board!).
Rather than an axing petition, I'd like to see a petition for the scriptwriters to get her face to crack into a smile!

i dont like to admit this cos pauline is a moany old bat who does my head in but i did feel a bit sorry for her in yesterdays epi. i know she was having a right go at sonia but that was only cos no one told her. i think she did try and understand through some of it but it just didnt show, and she did seem really hurt and upset by the whole thing. dont get me wrong though, i still find pauline one of the most irriating characters ever!

i kind of feel sorry for her. getting old is unfun and having kids that ignore you is annoying but she certainly makes no bones about her "good ol' days" and goes on. the truth is she was a missery guts from the first day. however look at her mum and you see where it comes from.
i feel bad for the cloe/ rebecca kid myself. can you remember when you were 4? could you imgine some old woman saying i'm your real granny. that would be scarey for a little kid. also what gets me is she acts like the child is a possestion (sorry on the spelling) like her flameing doorstop. it's got a brain and feelings too but she don't get that.
if nothing else maybe she could go visit her from time to time and become friends with that other old woman. it would give poor old Dot's ears a break.

they didn't tell her Dot spilled the beans and now it looks like she's on the warpath. poor little kid is all i can say. she's not a toy or something to be fought over. another thing little kids are a lot smarter than people give them credit for.
hope Sonia sticks to her guns and says leave my daughter alone and let her grow up with her granny that she knows.
then again maybe Pauline and Margret could come to an agreement and Pauline could maybe be happy for 5 minutes with Cloe/ Rebecca. who can say.....

Maybe my grandparents are just really odd, but none of them interfere in my life, or anyone else in my family's life, the way Pauline does.
As for saying she's fighting for what's right, if you're talking about Chloe/Rebecca...well, I don't think it's right. She's with her grandmother, and she's fine there. Pauline doesn't want Chloe back because that's what's best for her, she wants her back because Pauline wants a grandkid around. She's being totally selfish.
This is Sonia and Martin's decision to make and (IMO) they've made the right one by staying away.
However, I agree, Wendy Richard's acting was great.

No I don't think Pauline has the right to decide Rebecca's future. Sonia made the decision to have her adopted, and although it has been really difficult for her, it's something she has had to live with. If Sonia and Martin were to decide they wanted Rebecca back, it would be different because they are her natural parents, but Pauline shouldn't go behind Martin and Sonia's back back like that, it's deceiving and wrong. Saying that I would like the 3 of them to be reunited, but only if both Martin and Sonia were too decide to fight for her.
I do think Wendy Richard is a good actress. But Pauline is interfering!

most mothers and granmothers interfere,its what they do best,also ee is supposed to be a family programme which means its supposed to cater for all age groups,so what us youmg people find boring older people might enjoy and what we enjoy might be whats making older people turn off,ee needs all generations watching if they want to get back on top and getting rid of pauline would upset a lot of veiwers all ee needs is a happy mix of all generations watching again,but killing off paul ,andy and den did not help.

I agree with you, as much as I think Pauline is very dictating and obstinent, she is very much set in her ways, and that's an interesting trait she posseses. The character of Pauline has been around since it started, I wouldn't wish her to disapear from the screen. Her, Peggy, Pat and Dot, they are all important to the show. They cause a lot of comedy moments, and quite a bit drama too.
I think when most people talk about Pauline in a negative way, it's as a love to hate character. She's an annoying, interfering mother type, there's a lot of those in soaps, Peggy is a prime example. Eastenders is very much about matriachs.

Pauline is not doing what’s right -she is being selfish and not respecting Martin and Sonia decision. It's not her place to interfere. Rebecca is Martin and Sonia's child, not hers. She may be Chloe's grandmother biologically but the reality is that she's Margaret’s Grandchild. She is the one that raised Rebecca and that Rebecca has formed a relationship with. It's not Pauline's place.
However I do think Wendy is a great actress and a important character to the show.
