Every time I run the internet, I keep getting this particular pop up that says ' Do you want to install and run Macromedia Flash Player 8?' My Dad won't let me install it and when I click on no it still keeps happening. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it?

try Start>>control panel> admin tools> services.. look for messenger and disable this

it is an ok thing to have on your pc, helps you run some pages that require macromedia flash to work properly. some animations on your pages that move require flash to work properly. ask him again if you can dowload it, it only takes about 2mins.

He's got this thing in his head that it'll get a virus in the computer. If you try to tell him that it won't then he just shouts at you and carries on about what he thinks.

oh erm... do you have an antivirus protection?? i've heard people say that but research it with him so he will see. and it won't show up so you can download it without him knowing

It came back, I couldn't even load up a single internet page without it coming up like an indicator flashing, so I had to download it. My dad didn't seem to care as he has just got in from the pub - now I know how to get my own way lol. Thanks anyway for the help. Mods - please close this thread.
