Hinston High-Episode 1
Part One
Scene 1-The Cafe
(Chloe and Kat are sitting down in the cafe drinking a cup of coffee)
Kat: So what happened last night? I wanna hear all the gossip.
Chloe: What are you on about?
Kat: You know what i am on about. Something did happen didn't it?
Chloe: Kat, I dont have the faintest idea on what your on about.
Kat: Chloe, do i have to spell it out to you?
Chloe: Yes i am afraid you will av to.
Kat: You and Greg....I am dying for the gossip. Stop me waiting in suspense.
Chloe: Look me and Greg are just friends. I have tried telling you this but you won't listen.
Kat: It didn't look like that where i was standing.
Chloe: What do you mean?
Kat: You know what i mean...you were all over Greg last night at the pub.
Chloe: No i wasn't
Kat: So...what...i was imagining it?
Chloe: Yes you obviously were.
Kat: Did Greg buy you a drink last night?
Chloe:Yes he did. (Kat makes a face) And..so your point is?
Kat: My point is that Greg fancies the pants off you....anyone can tell and I think you fancy him as well.
Chloe: No he's not my type.
Kat: Yeah right you aven't had a man in ages Chlo.
Chloe: So neither have you. Men aren't everything you know.
(Felicity sits down by Kat and Chloe)
Felicity: So what you ladies on about?
Kat: Um..excuse me, this is a private conversation.
Felicity: Oh
Chloe: No no Flick it's ok you can join in. We were just talking about men.
Felicity: Oh yeah.
Kat: Yeah i bet you have had plenty of experience in that department.
Felicity: Meaning?
Kat: Nothing. I better go anyway.
Chloe: Where are you going?
Kat: Don't worry, I am only going over the pub.
Chloe: I thought your shift started at 4.
Kat: Well...no Nina changed it for some reason.
Chloe: I know when your lying Kat.
Kat: You obviously don't (Kat grabs her coat)
Chloe: See you later then
Kat: Over the pub?
Chloe: Yeah my shift starts at 6. (Kat leaves)
Felicity: Are you sure Kat hasn't got a problem with me?
Chloe: No don't worry.
Felicity: Well if she has a problem with me, she should say.
Chloe: And trust me, if she did have a problem, she would say.
(Pat suddenly calls from the cafe counter)
Pat: Flick, do some work and stop gassing.
Felicity: Yes mum. I was only picking up these cups.
Chloe: You've gotta go?
Felicity: Got it in one.
Chloe: Well see you later then.
(Felicity leaves and Chloe sits on her own clenching her cup of coffee)
Scene 2- Behind the cafe counter
(Felicity walks through with some empty cups)
Pat: Can we try and concentrate in working?
Felicity: Yeah i am working.
Pat: Oh and please don't call me mum during working hours.....it's very unprofessional.
Felicity: Yeah but everyone knows your my mum. It's only the residents of Hinston that come in here you know.
Pat: But it's a cafe. It's a business.
(Felicity leaves) (The phone rings. Pat answers)
Pat: Hello Pat's cafe. Hello? Hello?! Anybody there? Hello? This isn't funny. It's just plain stupid.
(The caller hangs up, Pat puts the phone down. Dave appears)
Dave: Who was that?
Pat: Um...no one.
Dave: Sounded like a prank caller to me.
Pat: No. Wrong number.
(Dave looks at Pat)
Pat: Well come on do something useful.
Scene 3- The Campbell's House
(Tanya is looking at the clock in the kitchen. Luke appears)
Luke: Missing the kids?
Tanya: Nah they have only gone to school, glad of the break.
Luke: So why else you staring at the clock?
Tanya: I wasn't staring at the clock. I was looking at it.
Luke: Wow! It's midday! And what opens on midday?
Tanya: What do you think darlin?
Luke: The pub.
Tanya: Well done. You didn't even need any lifelines.
Luke: Why are you going down the pub on this time of day?
Tanya: Coz i want to. Why? Is there a problem?
Luke: No i was just wondering.
Tanya: I am not gonna get drunk you know. (Tanya exits the kitchen to get her shoes in the hallway. Luke follows)
Luke: I know your not. I can't remember the last time you got drunk.
Tanya: Well it's a good excuse for me to have a good time then, ain't there?
Luke: But. (Tanya interrupts)
Tanya: You wouldn't mind picking up the kids from school later would ya?
Luke: But i have picked them up loadsa times before.
Tanya: Thanks. I knew i could rely on you. I love you Luke Campbell. See you later yeah?
Luke: Yeah bye.
( Tanya shuts the door)
