This is apparently one of the US's biggest exports at the minute. This features one of my favourite Sunset Beach actors, Eddie Cibrian, who is only 32 now! (he's the tall one in the turquoise blue shirt below). Anyway tommorow (Sunday 8th January 2006) sees its debut on Channel 4 at 8.30pm (showing the pilot episode first) and the 2nd episode is shown at 10pm.

Synopsis:

EPISODE 1

A hurricane heads for the quiet Florida town of Homestead, and witnesses are baffled by the appearance of mysterious lights in the sky. Scifi drama, with Eddie Cibrian.


EPISODE 2

"Lights Out"

Russell finds an injured Air Force officer at the ranger station, and an examination reveals he has wounds identical to Dave's.

I saw this advertised a while back. I'm defintly going to watch it tomorrow, i think it will be big "lost" style.

unlike lost i will give this show a chance, see if its anygood...the majority of american dramas are actually very gripping

i meant to watch lost, but i was on holiday, and i never got into it when i got back, cause i missed too much. I'm definetly going to watch this, it looks really good. Plus aliens and invasions are my thing!!! :D

I watched it tonight, and couldn't believe Russell Varon (Sunset Beach's Eddie Cibrian) could have a 15-year-old son (Jesse Varon - played by Evan Peters) when he still has his cute boy dimples. Here's a pic of him and his on-screen daughter Rose (Ariel Gade)

For centuries man has searched the skies for signs of intelligent life forms. What if those life forms were already here? And what if some of the natural disasters we've been experiencing of late were merely smokescreens to mask something far more ominous?


Invasion tells the tale of a family trying to recover from a devastating hurricane and its mysterious aftermath. For park ranger Russell Varon, a divorced father of two expecting a third child with his new wife, and local television reporter Larkin Groves, the hurricane proves to be merely the beginning of a long journey into the unknown. Always sceptical about the paranoid conspiracy theories of his wayward brother-in-law, Dave, Russell may have to revise his thinking when a number of bizarre occurrences start taking place in his community. Though Russell's young daughter, Rose, claims to have seen hundreds of lights floating towards the water during the storm, Russell initially dismisses her claim - until he begins to suspect that something is very wrong with his ex-wife, Dr. Mariel Underlay. The morning after the storm, Mariel is found naked in the water — with no memory of what transpired the night before.


As the tiny town of Homestead, Florida attempts to rebuild itself, Sheriff Tom Underlay - who is married to Russell's ex-wife - suspiciously orders the entire area quarantined. Russell starts to investigate the strange goings-on and, unknowingly, begins a fight for the survival of his family, his community, and maybe ultimately, the human race.

Episode 2: LIGHTS OUT



Russell discovers a barely living Air Force officer, Paxton, in a wet suit at the ranger station. He quickly realises that Paxton's wounds are identical to his brother-in-law Dave's, and wonders what happened to the man, but soon finds out that he's not the only one interested in Paxton when both Sheriff Underlay and Larkin question him about his mysterious circumstances.

Meanwhile, Mariel finds something inexplicable protruding from Paxton's wounds. Russell grows increasingly curious about the strange skeleton Dave retrieved, and Underlay continues to lobby for a town quarantine.

Yes someone sold me a shirt he'd worn in the show, and it has now pride of place in my chest of drawers.

yea i noticed that too when i saw the first episode, i was like " oh its cole from sunset beach" lol!

i think its really good so far, im getting more and more curious, it keeps me guessing! lol! which for me is a good thing ! just like lost!

This show is totally fab! Remindsme of invasion of the body snatchers!

Totally gripping - like most American dramas at the moment!
