So 2005 has finished share your top 10 films you are highly anticipating for 2006, here are my top 10.
10. Mission Impossible 3: Cruise back as Ethan Hunt, with plenty of explosions and car chases, should be great fun.
9. Romance and Cigarettes: not sure how many have heard of this but it's a musical by the great John Turrotto starring a wonderful cast in a fave of mine Christopher Walken, Kate Winslet and James Gandolfini, could be a guility pleasure.
8. Inside Man: The trailers are great and I love hostage films and with Jodie Foster and Denzel Washington this is going to be a great film.
7. Miami Vice:: The teaser trailer has got me all excited and with Michael Mann at the helm this is bound to be top-notch stuff.
6. Casino Royale: I'm interested to see what can be done with the Bond franchise and have heard this is going to be much darker, and I'm more than interested to see how Daniel Craig fairs in the lead role.
5. Superman Returns: So it's going to be interesting to see what Singer can do with Superman with an astronomical budget. Whether Routh can be half as good as Reeves remains to be seen but who cares Spacey is in this as Lex Luthor and he will no doubt be the star of the film.
4. X-Men 3: In all honesty I'm not sure about Ratner as the director but with the cast back again and an excellent first trailer, Im pretty sure it will live up to my hopes, particulary as Jackman is back as Wolverine.
3. Zodiac Fincher is back with a psychological thriller, hell yes with a top notch cast including the lovely Gary Oldman, I'm enthralled.
2. Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's chest: 2 words; Jack Sparrow, yep Depp is back and no doubt will steal the entire film, hopefully it will be just as much fun as the first and there won't be too much screen time for Orlando Bloom.
1. The Departed: so not as highly promoted as some, but The Departed will blow all other competition out of the water, with Scorsese back to the gangster genre with an all star cast in Matt Damon, Leo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone, my anticipation just grows stronger, if theres just one film I see this year it will be The Departed.
