my friend is on the pill but was on anti biotics over christmas and is afraid that they might've stopped the pill working. has this ever happened to you or anyone you know?

Thaking the pill on anti botics reduces its effectiveness, rather than stocp it working completely. It is advisable to use alternative contraception (while carring on with your normal pill) whilst on anti botics.

I have a 14 year old nephew because of this.... it does reduce the pill but so does been sick as in throwing up

thanks guys. i told her she should be fine but she's panicking. her and her boyfriend already have a child so it won't be the end of the world!! i think the reason she's panicking so much is cos she kept taking her pill without a break as she didn't want to have her period for christmas or new year.

doctors always say to use a condom whenon antibiotics! i never had a problem but my mate did and she got caught!

ive been on anti biotics and the pill and ive been ok but i know you are suppose to use something else as well as it does reduce its affectivness
