just wondering, what with the adoption of the Civil Partnerships Act last month, does this mean that Roy and Hayley can get some legal recognition for their relationship? i'm a bit hazy of the details of their 'wedding' years ago, it's not recognised in the eyes of the law is it? just like Hayley is still a man by law?
i think they should do this as a storyline myself, it wouldn't have to be a big thing on the Street, just a private affair with close friends which wouldn't be as controversial as last time and would show how important the Civil Partnerships Act is.
good point.....although i dont think they will go through all that again

Roy ought to plan this very carefully or he'll come an awful Cropper.
Still if they had a civil ceremony Hayley may well have to by a new anorak

While Roy would have to buy his electro-semi-steam powered Almerian quasi-neutralised hypertherapic unicycle.
I expect Hayley will keep it simple for the wedding presents and buy Roy a 'Beware of Trains' sign to hang up in his cafe.
I was just thinking this the other day. Roy and Hayley are not officially married but they should be able to do it now
they should be able to get Married if they want to

I bet the writers didn't even think about that one - hope they read this forum and even have a blessing for Roy and Hayley or something instead of making a whole big fuss over it...but just for character purposes it would be good
WE LOVE ROY AND HAYLE!!! (Well i do anyway!)

I thought. that since haley had the sex change. She was officially a woman in the eyes of the law so it would have already been legal.
Really? I didnt know it was legal after a sex change they could get married. I remember she is still a man on her passport

really shes still a man on her passport. I thought once you had the operation you could legal live a a woman and change your name and everything
Yep there was an episode on it when she came back from Amsterdam she got stopped at customs, and felt very embarressed. (She obviously hadnt updated her passport!)
I dont think you can marry after a sex change operation, but you can change your name by deed poll.
