Rapper -cum-actress Queen Latifah has been awarded a star on the Hollywood walk of fame today.
Honorary Mayor of Hollywood, Johnny Grant will present the artist with her own golden star on the walk of fame that includes names like Marylin Monroe and Alfred Hitchcock. Celebrities that have made an impact on Hollywood are featured on the walk, which currently stands at over 2,300 stars.
The stars feature symbols that designate what each person is famous for: a motion picture camera (for movie stars & directors), a television set (for those in the television industry), a phonograph record (for singers, songwriters, and recording artists), a radio microphone (for radio luminaries), and the twin theatrical masks of comedy & tragedy (for live stage performers).
Other artists that will receive a star this year include Matthew Broderick, Steve Martin, Motley Crue and Isaac Hayes.
