One day, England will soon have a smoking ban as Scotland will have in the end of March 2006. How will EastEnders react when a ban will take place south of the border. It will that we would never see Dot smoking her fags again in the Vic. I don't know why show bosses would her smoke at the laundrette since times have changed (They would have done that in the 60's and 70's). Anyway since she had cancer over a year ago on her kidneys the bosses should have given her lung cancer to show how bad smoking is. Maybe she will get killed off one day due to heavy smoking. Back to the main topic, We may also never see Pat, Jim, Keith, Pauline, Sonia or Sharon puffing away again and they would only have to smoke at home or outside.
It is like that here in Ireland (nearly 2 years now) and you get use to it... I am sure we would see Dot giving out about it.. it will just highlight the good reasons for the ban (I am a smoker and I think it was a great idea here)..

Dot just wouldn't be Dot without a fag in my opinion, worst still if drinking was ever banned how would that affect all the residents of Albert Square.

all soaps.. they are all centered around a pub... not home and away (oh wait, they did introduce Noah's)

she has as smoked in many episodes
smoked ... back in the mid 1980s, but her character, Pauline Fowler, quit smoking, and, for at least [since '92], Pauline hasn't lit up except on one or two occasions of extreme stress.

Dennis Rickman was a smoker too and Nick Cotton was a smoker just like Mum. I've Surely seen Sharon and Sonia smoke a couple of times before

Ours goes in place on march 16th really dreading it
they are now coming out with you are not allowed to smoke in a public park or walking down the high street.
They are even questioning whether you'll be able to smoke in your own car if you have a passenger!!!
