SUPERSTARS Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are expecting a baby, close pals have revealed.
"It's early days yet so they're not announcing it publicly, but anybody can see how thrilled the pair of them are," a friend told the News of the World.
"Angelina can't wipe the smile from her face and Brad is being so protective of her. She's had a difficult couple of months feeling sick and ready to faint."
The actress had a secret scan at Santa Monica's St John's Hospital Health Center in California last month.
The source revealed: "She went in wearing a hat and glasses so she wouldn't be recognised. Brad and Angelina have been very secretive. But they were overjoyed after getting the results of the scan.
"They already have their adopted little boy and girl, but this is a wonderful new experience for themand they are overjoyed."
Bump
Angelina has just finished filming The Good Shepherd with Matt Damon and Robert De Niro.
But pals say her pregnancy bump is already starting to show and when she went back to do some more shooting in December some of her costumes would no longer fit.
Brad and Angelina, who got together while making smash hit movie Mr And Mrs Smith (main picture, above) in 2004, are apparently already preparing for the birth.
Last month he filed legal papers in Los Angeles to adopt her two children.
She adopted Maddox, four, from Cambodia in 2002 and Brad was by her side when she collected ten-month-old Zahara from Ethiopia in July.
He wanted both to be called Jolie-Pitt so that all of their children would share the same surname. Our source said: "The new baby will be a Jolie-Pitt too. Brad and Angelina didn't want any of the children to feel any different when they grow up.
"They are so much in love and this baby is the icing on the cake for them."
Brad, 42, was divorced in October by Friends star Jennifer Aniston, 35, citing ‘irreconcilable differences'.
Our source said: "Brad has told Jen about the pregnancy so she doesn't hear it from a third party."
Rings
Angelina, 30, has been married twice before.She first tied the knot with Jonny Lee Miller in 1996. It lasted three years. Her second husband was Billy Bob Thornton. They wed in 2000 but were divorced in 2003.
Last month Brad was spotted buying vintage Cartier wedding rings during a motorbike trip to a jeweller on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.
But our source said they decided to delay their marriage until after the baby is born.
Friends predict a Buddhist-style ceremony in his Malibu mansion.
