Pam St Clement has signed a new, £200,000 deal keeping her with EastEnders for another two years.

Rumours had suggested that the actress, who has played Pat Butcher for twenty years, was to be written out of the soap due to lack of storylines.

A string of new storylines have now been developed for the character, however, spearheaded by the introduction of her long-lost family in the new year.

Well with the Wicks family moving back into the centrefold of EE, that can only be good news. :)

Excellent news about Pam. I hope she stays forever.

i think the oldies: dot, pauline, pat know their roots and will always stay loyal to the show...they know that the acting industry is tough, and soaps are the best roles you can get

not many have made it big outside of soaps...so all these young ones who move on thinking thier careers are going to be oh so rosey never realise...if they just stayed where they are it would be better all around

yet im glad that eastenders has had a clearout in 2005...out with the old and in with the new...onwards and upwards for the folk of walford!
