I can't believe that its not in London, they did a rehearsal show at the players theatre, just off the embankment some time ago,but it is only a small venue so couldn't get in. I do love bad girls, but I will not be travelling all that way to see it :thumbsdow

I think they will run it there first,to see how many people go, and then if it takes off,do a run in Birmingham and London.I went to the Prisoner Cell bloke H theatre show and it was really good,so well will have to wait and see what the critics have to say.

Bad Girls cast announced
The cast has just been announced for the world premiere of Bad Girls – The Musical, here at the West Yorkshire Playhouse this summer. Familiar faces from the TV series join with stars from the West End stage in portraying the inmates and officers of the infamous HMP Larkhall.

Nicole Faraday is best known for her portrayal of Snowball Merriman, the glamorous murderess in two series of Bad Girls. Nicole is returning to her Larkhall home, but this time to play ‘evil personified’ Shell Dockley.

Laura Rogers played Sheena Williams in Bad Girls on television. For the musical she will be playing G-Wing’s governor Helen Stewart.

Hannah Waddingham will play Nikki Wade, doing life on G-Wing for killing a policeman who was attempting to rape her girlfriend. Hannah is a hugely successful star of the West End stage having been awarded Best Actress in a Musical and Best Newcomer for her role in Lautrec. Following the run of Bad Girls - The Musical Hannah will be heading back to the West End to star in Spamalot! with Tim Curry.

Fresh from playing our very own bad girl the White Witch in the hugely successful The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Ellen O’Grady returns to the Playhouse as gangsters’ moll Yvonne Atkins.

Another familiar face from the Playhouse is Elaine Glover who will be playing first time offender Rachel Hicks. Elaine recently starred in our production of The Lemon Princess. Elaine may also be recognizable as Katie Jones from Footballers’ Wives.

The sisterly double act of Julie Saunders and Julie Johnston, ‘the two Julies’, will be played by Julie Jupp and Louise Plowright respectively. Julie Jupp is another Playhouse regular, having appeared as the Duchess in Alice in Wonderland and also starred in Bat Boy. Louise Plowright was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for her performance in Mamma Mia. She also appeared as Michelle Thorn in Footballers' Wives Extra Time.

Senior officer Sylvia ‘Bodybag’ Hollamby will be played by Rachel Izen. Rachel has a wealth of television and musical theatre experience behind her, most recently playing the role of Miss Flannery in Thoroughly Modern Millie with Amanda Holden.

A musical theatre veteran, Hal Fowler is playing the ultimate bad boy, corrupt screw, Jim Fenner. Hal has starred in numerous musicals in the West End and beyond, from Les Miserables and Aspects of Love to H.M.S. Pinafore and Calamity Jane.

Another star of the West End stage is Dawn Hope who will be playing Crystal Gordon, the bible-bashing Christian. Dawn made theatrical history by appearing in two West End shows at the same time playing Chicago at night and Ain’t Misbehavin on matinees.

Also Tricia Deighton, playing Noreen Biggs, has performed in a huge number of West End shows, from The Full Monty to Oliver!.

Amanda Posener will be playing Shell’s sidekick, Denny Blood. Amanda appeared in the original production of Rent and is a singer songwriter in the process of working on her first Album.

Michael N Harbour recently played Sid James in Cleo Camping Emmanuelle & Dick at Harrogate Theatre. He returns to Yorkshire to take on the role of the prison’s Governor, The Number One.

Neil McDermott will be playing Justin Mattison, the new juinor officer. Neil recently played the title role in Aladdin at the Old Vic with Sir Ian McKellen.

The cast also includes Emma Bispham, Richard Costello and Siubhan Harrison who are all seasoned musical theatre performers.
