Yeah, it was, I can't believe no one noticed for ages though, even though Garry was letting off fireworks.

How come that Hoodie knew where to find Dennis, what he looked liked and got there so quick. The only explanation I can think of is that it was that Big bouncer we keep seeing with the braids.

In the wake of Dennis's murder, his pregnant wife is struck dumb while Phil plans revenge on Johnny
She has been to more funerals than some undertakers and worn her black mourning suit so often that she now gets discount on it at the dry cleaners.
So how typical that Sharon Rickman's 2005 should end not with a celebration but another New Year's grieve. For in the wake of fiance Fireman Tom, alkie mum Angie and dad Dead Den, black widow Shazza's hubby Dennis has been despatched to that family all-inclusive in the sky.
Blink and you would have missed it. And with the bang of fireworks greeting the New Year, it seemed likely he had been shot. But no, with a hoodie brushing briskly by him, he was stabbed in the heart, having just beaten up Johnny Allen.
Goaded on by that venomous gnome Philthy Phil, Dennis signed his own death warrant by tossing a phone to Johnny.
"You frew 'im a rope," Philthy grunts as he watches the CCTV tape he stole. "An' he 'ung it round yer neck."
But then that's the unwritten law of retribution in soapland. Having murdered Jack Dalton, it was inevitable Dennis would be punished.

None of this will be of any consolation to Sharon, though, who had just found out she was pregnant. And, after the trauma of her beloved dying in her arms, she has been struck dumb. Some might say that's a result - but not Fowler The Growler.
"She always wanted a baby," Pauline tells Phil. "But to lose her husband like this, it's enough to send anyone off their head."
With Johnny in "a controlled coma" in hospital - no change there, then - this is a grim and maudlin start to the New Year.
But that's only to be expected with Enders losing its three biggest stars - Jessie Wallace, Shane Richie (Kat and Alfie) and Nigel Harman's Dennis in the space of one week. Even Phil hesitates in popping off another when he goes to pull the plug on Johnny's life-support machine.
"Nah," he hisses. "It's too quick. I'm gunna make you suffer more than that."
Phil, that might be a big mistake.

He died after the dongs of Big Ben had finished, therefore he died on the 1st of Janurary. Surely someone would have noticed this? Plus, he would have been confirmed dead by the authorities, maybe 30 minutes at the least later, therefore making it way into the new year.

no.. he saw the bit where Dennis threw Johnny the phone and he said "you gave him a rope and he use it to hang you" so he knows that Johnny called someone to kill dennis.
Johnny was already planning to kill dennis so he didn't have to do much just tell them to make the hit

precisely debs, hes never coming back and hed never come back even if he wasnt dead! maybe when it happened people might have been a bit sad for the like minute or so til the epi finished, but a week, thats going on far too long! i couldnt believe someone in my class today suddenly just came out with "i cant believe they killed dennis!", she soon shut up when no one else agreed and the boys told her to get a life lol!

precisely, i think while you are watching the tv programme/film etc and someone dies its ok to be upset, youre not necessarily upset that the character as died but its to do with how its portrayed, however you shouldnt still be upset for ages after the tv programme/film has finished, its not real life, its not going to affect things you do everyday
and the actor/actress are perfectly happy, most of the time, doing other things, as is Nigel from what I have read to date he is very happy doing Guys and Dolls. A lot of them like to move on to try and avoid being "Typed Cast" Sad for us but good for them.

I admit I am obsessed by Jake the character and I liked Nigel very much but I know the difference between reality and make believe and it doesn't affect my normal day to day life.

on the note on the flowers sharon writes "forever" and that was like their word wasnt it, like it was written on the back of the watch sharon gave dennis last xmas, anyway, did anyone else notice how on last fridays epi when dennis died and sharon was talking to pauline about going to america and she said "nothing lasts forever"

i totally agree with you, people should be able to discuss things like that, but the thing is certain people spoil it by going on about the things youve mentioned, we all get the picture by now they miss him we dont need to be told several times!

i think thats pretty fair. to be honest i think the main reason it should be kept open at the moment is simply because there is so much more to discuss about his character with the funeral coming up this week. after that though, unless people have interesting and valid things to say about his death, his baby etc, i would understand if this thread had to be closed :)

i dont think they have. ive said this before but im going to say it again, nigel didnt want to return to ee so we werent going to see dennis again anyway, i found it much more interesting to watch knowing he wasnt coming back than to see him leaving in a taxi!

I've enjoyed loads of scenes with Dennis in them. I think some of Nigel's best acting work has to be the stuff with Dalton, when he killed him. You really got to know the real Dennis. Also when him and Sharon first had sex, the chemistry on screen was incredible. There was so much more to his character, than the womaniser. Nigel Harman is a really good actor. And if some of the scenes towards the end of his stint at Eastenders, weren't everybody's cup of tea, I feel it's more the writers fault than it was his.

yeah i noticed that much more normal looking. What on earth was the mud thing all about. It was pretty poor funeral ive been to better ones than that. glad its all over was kinda getting sick of Dennis towards the end.
