Who do you think 'IS' EastEnders?

By this, I mean which character do you automatically think of when you hear the word 'EastEnders' mentioned? :) For me, it would be characters like Pauline, Ian, Sharon, etc, purely because they have been in it for a very long time. And also, the 'Mitchell family' springs to mind automatically. Please note that by this, I don't mean your favourite character :p lol, I just mean the one you'd think of straight away.

Since I am a newbie when it comes to Eastenders,, now if u asked me tomorrow I would have said the Mitchells .. how odd, cos they have not been on the show as long as Pauline and Ian and Sharon have been on,, Well Sonia has been on the program since she was 10 ( she said that on the Celebrity Mastermind the other nite,,, she lost )

Well I used to think the Slaters, but there's not many of them left so now it's the Mitchells.

For me it is Dot, Pauline, Pat, Ian, Sonia and Sharon. They are the backbone of EE. They have been there for the longest time and having watched them all this time, I've grown to care about them.

People on here say the Rebecca storyline is boring, but if you have watched Sonia from a young girl and saw her giving birth and all that's happened since, it is part of EE's history. That's why I've listed the people above, they are part of EE history.

peggy mitchell is the strongest ee character, so i always associate her with eastenders, but (oddly enough) whenever i think of ee, an image of pauline comes into my head. puts me off thinking about it at all :lol:
