When Doctor Who meets Eastenders....

This is, like, my first ever script. So it could be very bad- comments on how to improve are more than wellcome...

I was wondering what would happen if the Doctor, Rose and the TARDIS landed in Albert square yesterday, and i came up with (what i htought to be at the time, but probably isn't)quite a good story. I'm nearly finished, so thought i'd post the first few little bits on here.

As i said, i'd love some tips on how to improve. Just remember that this is doctor who, so some of it requires imagination. i can't really get around that :p lol

Scene 1
Opening shot of the tardis falling to earth. It lands outside the vic doors next to Martins stall. Inside the Tardis, the Doctor is talking to Rose;

Doctor: We’re here
Rose: Great. Lets go and see whats out there (Walks towards the door. Doctor pulls her back)
Doctor: Now I have to warn you. This place could be the worse we’ve visist. Theres some awefull animals here. Those who you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. Keep your guard up. Beware.
Rose: What d’ya mean? Come on, Doc, I’ve seen loadsa things….. Nanogens, Slithin, Auton, darleks….. This place can’t be any worse (Sniggers slightly)
Doctor: Rose. Do you really think I’d bother warning you if it wasn’t worth it? No, so shut up and get walking.
Rose: Hang on. Every other place w’ve landed, we’ve just come across trouble. How d’ya know we’re gonna find any here?
Doctor: I’m the doctor. Cause theres gonna be trouble. I’m not the queen you know, trouble just seems to….follow me around like a Bad Wolf.

Scene 2
Rose and Doctor walking out of the tardis doors.
Rose: See. I told ya it wasn’t as bad as all that.
Doctor: I’m never wrong, Rose. Well, maybe. There was that time with the Daleks….
Rose: What time?
Doctor: Well….i…..erm…… nearly killed you…… but lets not that ruin a good day!
Rose: What the fuc….(Doctor puts his hand over her mouth)
Doctor: Shhhhhhh ( Spots something on the other side of the square. Looks concerned. Rose goes to shout at the Doctor for telling her to shut up, but then also spots it.)
Rose: Doctor…..
Doctor: Rose….
Rose: This is my wosrst nightmare…
Doctor: How d’ya know. We’ve only just started!
Rose: Aint ya ever seen Eastenders? That’s where we are! Its my worst nightmare….
Doctor: Forget about all that. It can’t be as bad as your mother’s cup of tea.
Rose: Which saved yo…..
Doctor: In the words of Catherine Tate, Am I bothered?
Rose: Well you should be
Doctor: Rose. Shut it. Can’t you see whats going on around you? Look.
(Doctor points to the bench ‘of tears’. On it is some kind of alien, which resembles Alfie Moon. The face is liquefied, its skin droops right down, and all of his features are unrecognisable. He also appears hypnotised)

Scene 3
Doctor walks towards Alfie. Rose pulls him back.
Rose: Don’t you even think about going over there. You always do this. You go and get nosey, then leave me to save the day!
Doctor: Hardly! I’ve survived for 900 years without you. That never stopped me.

(Pulls his sleeve away from her. Walks over to Alfie, and pulls screqdriver from his pocket. He bends down next to him, and goes to check whats happened to him, using the screwdriver. Alfie moves from the hyponotised state he was in, and like a vombie, stares at the Doctor, emotionally. A mental message passes between the two, telling him to leave.)

Doctor: Rose, check the houses. See if anyone is in there, and ask them if anything strange happened here recently. Whatever happened to Alfie has given him some kind of mental powers. Its strange enough for a human to have it, but an Eastender? Do they even have a brain?
Rose: oi, don’t be so rude! Your talking to a Londoner ‘ere!

(Rose knocks on various shop windows, and peers through doors. Inside the minute mart is Patrick, in the same state as Alfie. Inside the Landerette, is another one, resembling Dot)

Rose: (Shouting over to the Doctor) They’re all like it! All of them!
Doctor: Have you checked the Voc?
Rose: Not yet. Gimme a sec

(Rose walks to the Vic, opens the door. Around 7 of these creatures are in there)

Rose: No, there’s no life in ‘ere either.

(Goes to shut the door, when from the door, when something catches her eye behind the bar)

Rose: Wait. No. DOCTOR! Theres Something in ere!

Scene 4

Doctor has now joined Rose outside of the vic

Doctor: Come on then. Lets take a look.
Rose: Well do ya think its safe? That Alfie moved. They could kill us!
Doctor: These aren’t aliens. They’ve been taken over by aliens. They have no control over their speech, appearance, nothing. These can’t harm us.
Rose: So whatevers caused this has left?
Doctor: Yes. Well, maybe. Probably. Possibly. Erm……… no. The odds are that its still around. So what you waiting for!?

(Both enter the Vic. Doctor goes to the place behind the bar that caught Roses eyes. Someone is there….)

Scene 5
Doctor: Peggy?
Peggy: Gerrouttta my pub!
Rose: What the hell is going on around here? What’s happened to everyone?
Doctor: Thank you Rose. I’ll ask the questions.
Peggy: Get out, before I throw you out!
Doctor: A little thing like you? Don’t make me laugh!
Peggy: I have more power then you think, ‘love’, now get out!
Doctor: Ah yes, well that seems evident, doesn’t it.
Rose: What d’ya mean Doctor?
Doctor: (to Rose, but looking at Peggy) Well don’t you find it funny that every single person in the square has been affected by this source, apart from dear old little Peggy?
Rose: So what you saying?
Doctor: You wanted a source Rose. You’ve got it. (Points screwdriver at Peggy in defence, in case of attack.)
Rose: You’re having a laugh, right? You really aint seen Eastenders. Peggy can’t do a thing like that. She has no power, just a couple of stupid sons This couldn’t have been her
Peggy: Don’t I get my say?
Rose and Doctor: Yeah
Peggy: I aint done nothing wrong. How could I? Without my Phil, I’m nothing.
Doctor: And?
Peggy: And this wasn’t my fault. This pub has always been cursed, bad things happen in here. Its where this whole thing started ya see. Alfie was in here, and then something came over him. He went home, and then today I found him on that bench. Everyone has come down with the same thing. Now they’re all like this!
Doctor: And why aren’t you? Like that I mean.
Peggy: Well how am I supposed to know! Anyway, I meant it. Get out! You come here, nosing around, butting into other peoples business. Well I don’t like it. So go.
Doctor: No.
Rose: We’re gonna solve this
Doctor: Whether you like it
Rose: Or not

[Abi]

Scene 6
Doctor is pacing the vic

Doctor: So if everyone apart from you has been affected by this, then this source must be targeting this area, but protexting you.
Rose: Obviously
Doctor: So what would be protecting you?
Peggy: you mean a ghost?
Doctor: I don’t know. I doubt it. Ghosts don’t have this much power to cause this must destruction in such a small area.
Rose: Maybe its something that she hasn’t come across yet. Like a proper monster. Maybe she hasn’t been found yet
Doctor: Good point, but I doubt it would be a proper monster. They leave trails, and this hasn’t. Besides, Alfie just cam down with something.
Rose: It could be a gas
Doctor: Or something in here
Peggy: I’ve already told you, it wasn’t me!
Doctor: I’m not saying that
Peggy: You mean, something in this pub is killing all these people
Doctor: yes and no. Something in this pub is doing something to all these people. But they’re not dead. They soon will be if we don’t destroy the source
Rose: So what would have attacked Alfie. And how?
Doctor: What was he doing before he got ill?
Peggy: Well he came in here, he was ce;berating him and Kat getting back together. He was happy because they’re going to America togther. It’s his dream. Well, it was his dream.
Doctor: What did he touch, drink, eat?
Peggy: How am I meant to know?! All I remember is what I’ve told you (Pause) but he did leave. I mean, properly. He always kissed the Queen Victoria statue before he left. That’s the last thing he did. Kiss the statue.

[crumpet]

(i've done a script on dr who meets eastenders before and i was going to do it again but you've done it!!!!! it's really good by the way :))

Thanks! I knew someone had done one before, but i had a 3 hour car journey yesterday, so i wanted something to do, and this story came to my head....

Scene 7

Looking at the statue thing

Rose: So this is an alien. Well boy, you’ve done it this time. I’m so scared! Ha!
Doctor: This isn’t the alien, but it’s the source
Rose: What d’ya mean? They’re the same thing
Doctor: Whatever is controlling this isn’t doing it itself. Its transferred its energy to this, knowing its significance in this pub. When Alfie kissed it, he got some of the energy. This was transferred to other people, probably by drinks, glasses, hugs, you know what I mean.
Rose: So how do we destroy it?
Doctor: well you get rid of the energy, and this part of the problems solved.
Rose: Smash it up?
Doctor: (laughs) No! That would release the energy, then it would attack us. All we need is a bigger energy source, which can take and destroy it….
Peggy: The sun?
Rose: The tardis!
Peggy: The what?!
Doctor: rose, you’re a genius! The Tardis! Peggy, bring that with you (Points to the statue and walks towards the door)
Peggy: Me? Your ‘aving a laugh!
Doctor: Do I have to do everything around here?

(Picks up statue, and with Roses help, drags it to the TARDIS. Peggy follows.)

Doctor: Pegs, stay in there. We don’t need you right now.
Peggy: Charming!

abi this is fantastic, first time - you need to keep doing them they are superb!

with you love of dr who you could do a conuntinung drama with the pair travelling the universe fighting aliens! and i for one will read them! keep up the good work!

Thanks!! Rose is quite hard to write, because shes not exactly dumb, but shes not intelligent either. I'm pleased with the Doctor though. The next bit will be up in a bit....

trust me it will over time, with devon seas i am now having the case where the characters are telling me what to right rather than me telling them what to say...you just gain an understanding of their personlaities, aswell as their lexical and syntacical structures of utternace (god i really should stop using A Levl English terms! :lol: )

Scene 8

Inside the TARDIS

Doctor: Right. This needs to go over here (Places it on floor, next to the heart of the TARDIS. He starts attaching random clips and gadgets to it)
Rose: What’s next?
Doctor: Well for a start, you get out of here
Rose: What?
Doctor: Well last time the TARDIS was opened, you looked into it, and I used up a regeneration!
Rose: but…. i….erm…….wont…
Doctor: Just do it. I’ll sort this one out.

(rose walks out of the TARDIS in a kind of sulky way. The Doctor continues switching buttons etc. He runs over to near the door, and pushes a final button. The room fills with a bright green light, and a screeching noise. Meanwhile……)

Peggy: ‘as he done it? Has that bloke sorted my Phil yet?
Rose: I dunno. The doctor….. he rejected me….
Peggy: The doctor, you say. Doctor who?
Rose: (irritated) I dunno, ok, just leave it.

(The Doctor opens the door and comes out of the TARDIS, leaving the door open)

Rose: Done it?
Doctor: What do you take me for? Cause I’ve done it! Remember what I told you earlier. 900 years (Smiles in a comforting way)
Peggy: Where’s my Phil then? Why they all still like this?
Doctor: ah
Rose: Ah what?
Doctor: Well, I sorted the source out. That’s all gone, so we’re not going to be attacked by it. But until we find the actual alien, they wont recover.
Rose: Come on then! Lets just get on with it.
Doctor: well its not that simple. When I told you that it was still around, I meant the source. The alien could have gone days, even months ago. It could be around here, or it could have left this solar system. Who knows?!? (Laughs)
Rose: This aint funny. You can’t leave them like this. Think about the fans. They don’t want to watch a programme just about Peggy Mitchell
Peggy: Oi!
Rose: Well its true. You can’t just leave them like this. Think, Doctor, think. What can we do?
Doctor: Hang on. You can only transfer energy from a distance without interference
Rose: Meaning…?
Doctor: They could only have done it without actually coming to the square if there was no interference from those little phone things and stuff.
Rose: So they had to come here, because it was inside, with interference
Doctor: Exactly
Rose: Remember the slithin? They could take over peoples bodies, and do whatever they wanted.
Doctor: and…
Rose: Nah, don’t worry about it…
Doctor: Hang on, maybe your onto something….. maybe…..

(Both look at each other, knowingly)

Doctor: Where’s she gone? Peggy?!

Thanks. I'm doing another bit, it'll probably be finished tomorrow, or late tonight. Not sure yet, as i have, like 3 different ways in my head of ending it, and all of them start in the next scene so....

Scene 9
(Rose and Doctor are searching the square for Peggy)
Rose: She couldn’t have gone far
Doctor: I don’t care how far she’s gone. The point is, we don’t know where she is, and if we don’t know where she is, then she could be doing anything
Rose: Like plotting against us?
Doctor: What d’ya mean?
Rose: Well you said it yourself, maybe it’s a slithin
Doctor: I didn’t say that! You said that. What you said about them being able to take over human bodies is true, that could be happening now. But I don’t think so.
Rose: So you think…..?
Doctor: What I think is happening is besides the point. We need to find her. Shes important. The fact that shes the only person that wasn’t affected must mean something.
Peggy: I doubt it (Steps out of the train station)
Rose: Why the hell did ya go in there?
Peggy: Why not?! I ‘ave my own life, I aint gotta tell you everythin, ave I?
Doctor: Hardly the time to go on a power rage
Peggy: Shut it you. You’ve come in here, not even bothered to introduce yourself to me, then tell me whats been going on around me! All I know about you is some title that this woman gave away. What makes you think that I’ll trust you, when the only thing I know about the pair of you, is that you’re a Doctor, and you have a blue box!
Doctor: Not a doctor, the Doctor, pleased to meet you, by the way (Puts hand out to shake it)
Peggy: I’m not interested in anything you’ve got to say, “Doctor”. And you young lady….
Rose: Yeah, I’m Rose Tyler, and I’m a big fan, Mrs Mitchell
Peggy: Your just like my Sam you are…..
Doctor: Nice….Domestic….
Rose: (jokingly) hardly!
Peggy: So what do ya want with me, then eh?
Doctor: I find it suspicious that you’re the only one that wasn’t affected (Peggy goes to interrupt, but the Doctor doesn’t let her, and continues) and even though I don’t think that its oyu controlling this (Glances to Rose) your involved.
Peggy: Well its news to me, I’m telling you!
Doctor: But that’s the thing. I don’t think it is. Now it’s the time for the truth, Peggy. And if you don’t say it, then I will.

[Abi]

Scene 10

Rose: Wait a second; You know whats going on? Why don’t I?!
Doctor: Because your not a 900 year old time lord
Rose: I thought we were a partnership!
Doctor: Get some perspective! Now’s hardly the time for you to go on a power rage as well!
Rose: (mockingly) Sooooory
Doctor: Put a sock in it, you. So, Peggy, spit it out
Peggy: No
Doctor: What do you mean ‘no’
Peggy: No
Doctor: Well I guess its down to me then.
Rose: Get on with it, no wonder your 900 years old, you take your time so much
Doctor: So its like this then. It’s a normal day, your serving your punters and going around your normal, and frankly quite boring, life. Then strange things start happening. People go mad at each other, have affairs, and kill each other. No one notices, but life gradually turns into a soap. You ignore it, and leave the area a few times, but every time, something drags you back. Then recently, you can’t handle it, when a man tells you that he can settle the area down, and make it livable again, you jump at the chance. You leave him in the pub to do whatever it takes. And he does. That’s right isn’t it? You gave your pub to someone else, because you were so desperate to free yourself. You gave up the pub, didn’t you?
Peggy: (Stumbling, obviously gobsmacked) I…..erm……..well kind……..sort of.
Rose: Well it either happened, or it didn’t, unless….
Doctor: Unless what?
Rose: Unless you gave the pub up, but not because you wanted to, because you had to had to…..because of the man….because he was an…
Doctor: Alien
Rose: But why? This alien, or whatever it was must have had a reason to come here. Whats so special about here
Doctor: (looks to Peggy) because of the ghosts. Aliens can sense that kind of activity. Some are attracted to it, and use it as a kind of breeding ground to stem from. You said it yourself that this area is your worst nightmare. You’ve seen so much over the past few months, so your beginning to sub consciously pick up on these things. From the moment we stepped out of the TARDIS you knew something was wrong. Rose- you’re the key. You can solve this.

(Rose looks gob-smacked and slightly confused, as though she doesn’t know what the Doctor wants from her)

[Abi]

Scene 11

(Rose is pacing the square, thinking about what the Doctor said about how she can solve this problem. The Doctor is still with Peggy, however all of them are silent to start with)

Rose: I don’t see what I can do. I’ve seen some stuff, but that don’t mean I can solve something like this.
Doctor: I know you can sense it. You can solve it. Think, Rose, think.
Rose: Well if there is some kind of alien around, and I could sense it, I’d be really scared…. No, not scared, just worried…. To go near it….
Doctor: yeah….
Rose: So if there is something in the square that I don’t want to go near, then that might be where the Alien is.
Doctor: actually….. maybe…
Rose: Actually what?
Doctor: The man that same into the pub was the alien. He got the control. He transferred energy to the statue. Then he would have left, but before he did that, he would have left something here so that he can control the area from the distance. Remember what I said about they can’t transfer energy from a distance? Well they wouldn’t exactly want to hang around to replace any of the energy.
Rose: There’s some kind of device here, that’s controlling the square
Doctor: Exactly
Peggy: But what?
Doctor: That’s the question.

Scene 12
(Rose is rushing around the square, searching for the device)

Doctor: Rose, calm down, just think about this
Rose: Leave it, I can’t sort this. You said it yourself….
Doctor: Not if you go rushing around. I mean you can sense these things, but your not that good….
Peggy: oi, leave er alone
Doctor: Just stop for one minute. (Rose stops, and looks at him) What part of the square were you most resistant to go to?
Rose: (Pauses and thinks)…….the vic! I didn’t want to go in the vic, but you told me that nothing would happen.
Doctor: So if that statue is a significant feature of the vic, then you need to find another one, because they probably hid it in there.
Peggy: Would it have always been here?
Doctor: Maybe, they might have taken it, implanted a grantola device, that’s the thing we’re looking for, then put it back.
Rose: So something that was there, then went, then came back again.
Doctor: Yup, you got it
Peggy: I would have noticed if that happened, Doc
Rose: The pool table.
Doctor: The what?
Rose: That green table in the vic, near the statue.
Peggy: you did act all….strange when you went near that statue. ‘member? You mocked the doc with ‘oooh, I’m sooo scared’
Doctor: Rose! You’ve got it!
Peggy: but I would have noticed if it kept disappearing. Everyone would have.
Rose: They might have done, but do you really think they’d care?

Well, David Tennant, just after his regeneration, so he still acts a bit like Christopher still, if that makes sense.

Scene 13
Inside the Vic, all three are gathered around the pool table, the doctor is laid down beneath it
Rose: Hows it going Doctor?
Doctor: Nearly there……… got it! (Pulls out a small rubber box, and stands up)
Peggy: What the hell….
Rose: so what now? Smash it up?!
Doctor: Its like what you said, Rose. The slithin could take over peoples bodies, whatever is controlling this can take over objects, its like a ghost, and was attracted to the ghosts of Walford.
Rose: So if we get rid of the ghosts in this box…
Doctor: Then everyone recovers!
Rose: That’s fab! Lets do it!
Peggy: But how?
Doctor: ah
Rose: Don’t say you don’t know
Doctor: ok, I wont
Rose: Ah, shut it! You know what I mean!
Doctor: Well I guess the TARDIS could sort it. It managed to take that energy from the statue; whatever is in this is a type of energy, just in the ghost form.
Rose: well, we could try it
Peggy: Come on then!

(Walk out of the pub, and Rose and Doctor go into the TARDIS, leaving a confused Peggy outside)

I just realised i never finished this.... so i checked my files on my computer, and i had actually done it, i just didn't post it. Anyway, i thought i'd finish it off... ok, so its not great, but you know...

Scene 14

Peggy: How could they know all this stuff about me? Its like they’re not human…….. and whats up with this TARDIS thing, it can’t get rid of ghosts….surely….it’s a blue box for gods sake!

(Peggy continues talking to herself, meanwhile the Doctor and Rose are shown inside the TARDIS, with Peggy talking over the top…)

Peggy: One person can’t know all this about the universe….about my life….One box can’t have so much power….one girl can’t detect activity……. They can’t….

(Shot returns to Peggy, who is mumbling to herself. She looks towards to bench, where Alfie is, and sees that his face is changing. She runs over to see what’s going on, his face is returning to normal. She sees the TARDIS door open, and Rose and the Doctor come out, she gives the a smile, and looks back to Alfie)

Alfie: Ello duchess!
Peggy: Alfie! Your….Normal!
Alfie: I might have some strange shirts, but that doesn’t mean I’m not normal….

(Peggy looks over the the Doctor)

Doctor: (Shouts) Peggy!!! (she walks over to him) Peggy- he wont remember what happened. He was hyponotised, to him nothing has happened. That’s gonna be the same for everyone, but now the energy from the device has been destroyed, nothing more can happ[en. Walford will return to normal
Peggy: Thank you so much Doctor, and you Rose
Rose: (turns to Doctor) but that still leaves one thing…remember?
Doctor: ah yes…. You gave the pub up, didn’t you?
Peggy: Yeah…you knew that
Doctor: Thought so. Did this man offer anything in return for the Pub?
Peggy: no…….
Rose: Your not a good liar, ya no
Peggy: well….erm…..sort of…
Doctor: Spit it out then
Peggy: He told me that I’d be the most beutifull person on the square….
Rose: (laughs) ha! Likely!
Doctor: Rose, don’t mock her, she got it didn’t she?
Rose: What d’ya mean?
Doctor: Look at what they became! Anyone would be better looking then them, even Peggy Mitchell
Peggy: oi!
Alfie: Come on, duchess, aren’t you gonna wish me good bye and luck?
Peggy: (turns back to the Doctor) Thank you Doctor, for everything
Doctor: that’s alright!
Peggy: (Runs over to Alfie, and gives him a great big hug)

Scene 15

Doctor and Rose are inside the TARDIS. The Doctor is flying it, and Rose is sitting on a rail, thinking

Rose: Do you think anything else is gonna happen to Peggy and that lot?
Doctor: Maybe… they’re getting themselves noticed, its like people are watching them….even aliens pick up on people like that!
Rose: So something could happen again in the future?
Doctor: Maybe…..
Rose: seriously? Today was bad enough!
Doctor: You think so? I thought it was….FANTASTIC!!
