Many of you like Winnie The Pooh (I don't).., so I hope you like this..

Winnie the Pooh is celebrating his 80th birthday, as Disney launches a year of celebrations for the much-loved bear.

Pooh was created by author AA Milne, and first appeared in a newspaper in 1925 and has been a kids' favourite in books and films ever since.

Some fans have said they're upset that Pooh's friend Christopher Robin will be replaced by with a "tomboyish" girl in the new Winnie the Pooh TV series.

But Disney are confident that she'll be what is needed to freshen up the story.

The Winnie the Pooh tales were inspired by bedtime stories that AA Milne read to his son Christopher, on whom he based the main character Christopher Robin.

They also featured animal characters such as Rabbit, Owl, Kanga and Eoyore the donkey.

The new TV series will be computer-generated and will hit UK screens in 2007.
