twinkle - don't worry - we all get like it - i know i certainly do...

I'm sending you a hug, but children are trying at the best of times - you've walked away from the situation, which is the best thing to do. Just take deep breaths, calm down a bit and when you feel ready (when she has stopped crying) go and give her a big hug and tell her that you love her.

I shouted at ci earlier and felt awful after, so calmed down, then gave him a hug, told him i was sorry and that I loved him. dont worry....

just stay away till she and you settle - can you/have you given her some calpol? let daddy comfort her until you feel better - if she senses you are uptight, she'll get worse - they sense it from a very young age and if you are upset, she will be upset. Go get a drink and sit on here, chat to us for a bit till you feel better

don't beat yourself up though - sometimes when liam is crying i am like - what on earth is the matter - your fed, clean, dry, warm, etc and it frustrates me as i can't have a hot cup of tea, coz he wants constant cuddling or i have to get me 12 yr old to get Ci a drink as I am feeding liam etc, but then i remember he is only 3 weeks old so needs this sort of fuss - but I do still feel like i am getting anxious - its best to just put them where they are safe, in Paige's case, with daddy and do what you have done and just walk away and let daddy deal with it - i bet if think about how many times you have dealt with her when she has been upset like this it has been far more than what daddy has dealt with......

ive tried taking her of garry and she screamed even more for more she hates me now i feel like such a cow

Jojo
23-12-2005, 23:25
she doesn't hate you!! She is just not feeling 100% and is crabby like we all get when we aren't too well, and she can probably still sense that you are upset and she is reacting to that....

don't forget, you have been trying to sort Paige out aswell as sorting out your other children and that is hard enough at the best of times when they are all feeling well, let alone if one isn't well. Plus with xmas coming, the children start getting slightly hyper, you are wanting to make sure everything goes ok on the day and then you are dealing with your littlest being unwell - it all builds up - you have a couple of stressful situations going on at the same time and sometimes you just don't know what else to do - it happens to every parent...

23-12-2005, 23:40
well she has gone to sleep but for how long who knows

Jojo
23-12-2005, 23:44
if i were you, i'd either get some sleep yourself now or make yourself a nice drink and just relax for a bit - then when she wakes up, you will be calmer and she will be more likely to want a hug from you...:)

I gotta go as liam wants his first night feed - take care, I'll speak to you soon, but please dont feel bad about whats happened - it happens to us all :D

Just read this. Hope you are feeling ok today. Shouting at Paige doesn't make you a bad mum. You are only human, and we all do it at some point. I have screamed at Will in the past when he was crying constantly. You did the right thng by leaving her with her dad. I bet you are a fantastic mum, and the fact that you felt bad, shows how fab you are. xxxxx

Twinkle, speaking as a kid who is constantly shrieked at and sometimes even thwacked by her father, you are not a bad parent. Neither is he, (he's just a pain!)... you sound lovely and you're only human so don't give yourself a hard time about it :)

I'm sure I'll do the same to my 4/5 children when I have them :D

I'm sorry to hear that Paige has bronchiolitis - at least it explains the crying, but its always very difficult when they are ill - you know they are ill, but you just sometimes can't do anything to help....

I hope you had a good xmas day though and hopefully the antibiotics will have kicked in and helped Paige a lot. I remember having emergency doctors out for Stephen for his first 2 christmas' to administer nebulisers (sp?) etc, its not fun, but hopefully she is on the mend now...

:rotfl:Aww Twinkle - I know the feeling mind - Liam has fed 4oz every hour today!!! And then he is getting belly ache cause of his wind, even though he is having infacol before his feed - i'm gonna have a word with the doc tomorrow, during my 6 week check and maybe phone my HV aswell, as this really isn't right - poor lad is getting so uncomfortable, and there doesnt seem to be anything that will settle him - i have even tried a dummy (which my other 2 had) but he won't take it - its awful when they are crying and there is nothing you can do. I'm just thankful I bought the swing for him as that is the only thing that seems to be settling him at the moment, and even then he has to be in the right mood for it...
