I agree with what you said, i have looked at other boards too and they people can get very nasty or post pointless threads anywhere.. this one is more organised, pleasant and the people aint so bad :D

yes i agree too, ive never really joined any other boards before just read them but i felt really relaxed about joining in and really enjoy it!! lets keep it going for 2006!!

I regret saying that now loll :lol: i didnt mean my immediate family, i just mean my estranged family. We have this big gathering tomorrow so it will just be a lot of awkward small talk.. I do tend to try and avoid the internet on Christmas Day though as I like spending time with my parents, brother and sister.

Im a huge fan of the Glenn Miller sound big bands, we lost the fella flying over to France near the end of WW2, but the sound he craved and worked to find lives on. I play the trumpet and loved my big band days as much as I loved my brass band days...my peak was festival hall brass band wise although playing at half time at Southamptons Dell was interesting.

anyone start shopping yet? Nope! I actually have no excitement at all for christmas yet. I don't have a job and it will be my daughter's 1st christmas without her dad. He came over every year so there will be an empty seat at table this year. Plus we don't know if my husband's brother will be allowed to come to us either.

Sorry to hear about your job and your daughter's first Christmas without her dad.. tough any time but especially at a time families usually tend to get together :( I doubt many people are in a Christmas mood this year, I am under lockdown again, not quite as severe as in March and April but quite close. We will all have to make up for it when this virus gets controlled and things are back to a more normal again although doubt they will ever be like we have known. I do wish everyone a peaceful festive season xxx
