Simon Cowell is considering introducing a children's category to The X Factor next year.

The judge hopes to keep the show fresh in 2006 by searching for child stars and signing up a new judge.

"It's all about spicing things up and keeping interest high," Cowell told The Mirror. "We're throwing all sorts of ideas around. The new category will be for 14 to 18-year-olds. Now all we need is a new judge."

Take That star Gary Barlow and Pop Idol's Nicki Chapman are being tipped to join the show as the fourth mentor.

I can't see many mothers letting simon cowell talk to their kids the way he talks to the ones on x factor now...i for one would have to punch him very hard :D

That suonds great, but i agree it would be quite sad to see them go!!! I might conside entering myself :p

thats the only downside, when they have to go......................at least they are not going any younger than 14

Nite Raiders..... lol..... thats where we got our "Mindy" and "Abi" tags from isn't it?! Gosh, that was yonks ago, why we still using it on here?!
