Wednesday 11th January 8pm-9pm
New recruits PCs Emma Keane (Melanie Gutteridge) and Lewis Hardy’s (Aml Ameen) first day at Sun Hill and PC Roger Valentine (John Bowler) and PC Leela Kapoor (Seema Bowri) are assigned to show them the ropes. But whilst investigating a crime on the Holbeck Estate, courageous Lewis gets off on the wrong foot when an over-zealous tackle results in a complaint being made against him. Could the new probationer’s career be over before it’s begun?
Meanwhile, PCs Yvonne Hemmingway (Michele Austin) and Tony Stamp (Graham Cole) arrest Raymond Taylor (Lloyd McGuire) for driving erratically and are stunned when he confesses to raping a woman the night before. However, the case isn’t as straight forward as it first appears when a distraught Raymond tests positive for date-rape drug, Rohypnol. DCs Jo Masters (Sally Rogers) and Suzie Sim (Wendy Kweh) go in search of the alleged victim, Miranda (Jo-anne Stockham) who has gone missing. When they discover that Raymond was also robbed on the night of the alleged rape, Jo and Susie conclude that he is the victim and Roger goes undercover to catch Miranda.
Thursday 12th January 8pm-9pm
PCs Roger Valentine (John Bowler) and Leela Kapoor continue to puppy-walk probationers, Lewis Hardy (Aml Ameen) and Emma Keane (Melanie Gutteridge). Roger and Lewis are soon called out to investigate young mum, Leanne (Lucy Speed), who claims to have been threatened by a man with a used needle. Unimpressed by the action taken against the drug problem on the estate where she lives, Leanne turns up at the station and dumps a load of needles on the front desk, leaving new PC Emma to clean up. Determined to sort the problem, Superintendent Adam Okaro (Cyril Nri) organises a drugs bust and volunteers rookie Lewis Hardy to be the under-cover man.
Meanwhile, DS Ramani De Costa’s (Thusitha Jayasundera) boyfriend Saul Peterson (Darren Saul) is concerned about Roy (Emmanuel Idowu), who has been threatened with a gun at the community centre and asks if she could dig a little deeper. Although jealous of their relationship, DC Terry Perkins (Bruce Byron) agrees to help. During the investigation, Terry and Ramani discover that the gun-man, C.J (Adam Allfrey), is Roy’s sister’s ex-boyfriend and is threatening Roy because he wants to know where she is. Later, when Roy’s sister Lisa (Madeline Appiah) is abducted, the race is on to find her and it isn’t long before it’s Terry’s turn to stare down the barrel of C.J’s gun…
Also, PC Dan Casper (Chris Jarvis) keeps mum about his spare room that he offered to Emma when he catches PC Will Fletcher (Gary Lucy) scanning the papers for a room to rent for himself. Playing the innocent in front of the boys, Emma tells Dan she is unable to take him up on his offer, leaving him no choice but to reluctantly offer the room to a delighted Will.
