Libel damages for The Bill actress

Actress Lisa Maxwell has accepted undisclosed libel damages over a claim that she had a one-night stand with a bodyguard.

Ms Maxwell, who plays Det Sgt Sam Nixon in The Bill, had brought proceedings in London's High Court over an article which appeared in the Daily Star Sunday in March.

Her solicitor-advocate, Mark Thomson, told Mr Justice Eady that it was headed "Sin Hill my romp with Bill star Lisa, by Wayne Sleep's bodyguard".

It was alleged that Ms Maxwell had made sexual advances to a man she had only just met and had a casual "one-night stand" with him.

The article included what were alleged to be details of her sexual behaviour on that occasion.

Mr Thomson said that Express Newspapers, which had agreed to pay the actress damages and her legal costs, now accepted these allegations were completely untrue.

"Not surprisingly, Ms Maxwell found the publication of the allegations very upsetting," said Mr Thomson.

Stephen Bacon, counsel for the newspaper, offered its sincere apologies.

ah i dont remember that in the paper but i dont always read the daily star but im glad its all sorted for her now
