Tom Cruise reportedly wants wife Katie Holmes to stay at home for years to look after their baby.

"Tom wants both of them to be around as much as possible once the baby is born," a source told More magazine. "He plans to take a year off and he wants Katie to take at least twice that if not more. He even suggested that their child should ideally be at school before she picks up her career again."

"Katie has ambitions and she is scared about that long a lay off," the source continued. "But Tom keeps telling her that she has the talent to take a long break and still come back at the top."

that tom cruise is sounding more and more controlling everytime you hear about him ! I really think katie hs made a huge mistake getting with him! She seems to have no identity anymore, she doesnt see her freind she changed to his weird religion/cult and now he want her to give up her job and all her ambitions whatever next!

Oh yea and he even want to appove her wedding dress!!!! isnt that a girls chioce to choose her dream wedding dress

i dont see why he cant stay at home with the baby he has done loads of films whereas katie hasnt done as many and could become a bigger film star!!

He sounds really awful. Controlling and manipulative. TC really does seem to like being 'top cat', maybe he is frightened that she will be more successful than him!

If she wants to go out and work in the film business then she should. I would hate to be forced to stay at home 24/7

id rell him that its his baby too, why does she have to stay at home and not him too, its not like they dont have enough money
