'Coronation Street' character Sunita Alahan will move to India to raise her twins away from estranged husband Dev.

Sunita is furious that Dev, played by Jimmi Harkishin, has fathered four children by three other women.

Sunita, played by Shobna Gulati, moves into the flat above Dev's corner shop after she gives birth to twins Aadi and Asha - which she tells friends means First and Hope.

The raven-haired beauty tells devastated Dev that she needs no help and will raise the children alone.

She says: "I can manage very well without your help, thank you. I intend to start as I mean to go on.

Dev will hear his children crying as he works in the shop alone - leaving him heartbroken. A show insider told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "It's agony for him that he's not allowed to comfort them and do all the things fathers do."

After thinking about her situation, Sunita eventually accepts she must return home to Mumbai, in India, to give herself, and her children, a fresh start.

I think that she will be disappointed with that Ending.I cant believe that the writers cant come up with something better.

I know everyone has a past, i have one myself, but when there's kids involved it's a little different.....especially when there's loads of them!!

Yes if your going to marry somebody you should say if you have children by a previous partner. And all or most of the women who he had children with were at her engagement party, rubbing her nose in it. I'm sure Sandra had a laugh at her expense, she seems that type of a woman. He should have trusted her, whether she chose to stay with him or not, he would have been honest. And she would have known that.

I do think it's very sad though that they've had to split up, and that Dev will never be a part of their children's lives. I hope at some point the babies will get the chance to know their father. Perhaps Sunita will be allowed back to Weatherfield at some point. I think you can rehire somebody after they've been sacked.

I agree. Rubbish. Utter tripe.

I hope that the puts Dev's goolies in a vice before she goes. It might give his acting another dimension!

I agree with everyone....what a boring exit? After all the top notch acting from her, she has been given a rubbish exit. I thought it was a bad decision to axe her in the first place. She has been great on the show and her superb acting has been contributed to the Mad Maya story and the recent Dev storyline. What a waste!
