It’s official - Ian Beale is EastEnders’ worst dad of all time. The drippy chippie owner, played by Adam Woodyatt, beat bad dads like Dirty Den, Grant Mitchell and Johnny Allen in the poll of 35,000 soap fans.

There are far worse Dad's than Ian, he cares for his kids, now see if it was the worst businessman then that would have made sense.

That makes more sense. Although I would still choose Phil as somebody I'd hate to be my dad. He thinks he owns his kids, but hardly spends any time with them, even when he's given permission. He'd rather have a nanny do all the work. Any child of his has to fit in with the certain criteria, of what it means to be a Mitchell (or will when they're older). If they ever stepped out of line (the line according to Phil), they shouldn't be surprised if their dad disowns them. And they must remember their dad is very handy with his fists, and has a violent temper, so they shouldn't be shocked when they find themselves on the receiving end one day.
Ian may be stuffy, but he's a very tame guy. He doesn't resort to violence, or bad language. I'm not a big fan of Ian, but as a dad he's better, I think. Also he's got the love of Jane which keeps him from getting uptight a lot of the time. And has definitely improved his character since they've become a couple.

i still dont think ian is the worst dad you'd want because evn though he must be embarrsing for his kids i'd much rather have a father who cares about me and loves me rather than a father who is a murderer and a thug like johnny allen and phil
Consider what I have seen with Johnny this week I think I would hate him as a dad... he is controling and a murderer... Ian is not that bad
