EastEnders will loose again but usually Emmerdale's only way of getting more viewers is to have a big storyline (Such as a death or wedding) or an hour long episode. I would say EE is the better soap though.

Compare Emmerdale (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds26382.html) to More Kalfie Nonsense (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds25936.html) and its easy to see why Emmerdale will win the most viewers. Most people including the most loyal EE fans are bored senseless the continually repetitive Alfie Moon and the orange slapper

With that storyline they would yes, but It's not always like that. I won't be around to watch either anyway as I am going on a school trip to Belgium on the 1st December.

One thing it does prove is ee is not back on track yet it has not beet emmerdale in a head to head since the night den framed phill,pathetic really,but so have a lot of ee storylines been,ee should have truck back by making the mitchells return an hour long and gone head to head with it

But some viewers don't like the Mitchells so they would lose some viewers.

Eastenders for me but i don't watch Emmerdale,people who watch both must finding it annoying with Emmerdale competing with Eatenders by putting it on at the same time its pathetic by thinking that if they go head to head that makes them the better soap in my opiinon if they hadso much confidence in themselves they would not have to do this although I cannot comment on how good Emmerdale is as i do not watch it
