Louis Walsh has warned that he will go ahead with his decision to quit The X Factor if he is humiliated again.
The judge announced that he was leaving the show earlier this week after a huge backlash surrounding his decision to send home Maria Lawson two weeks ago. Louis was also unhappy after his fellow judge Simon Cowell called him an "idiot" in an interview.
Louis has since decided to return for the sake of his one remaining act, Shayne Ward.
"I want assurances from the producers they will not humiliate me any more or I won't hesitate to walk again. It's in their hands," Walsh told The Mirror. "It's been a week from hell. I was seriously considering never coming back. I've had sleepless nights. I'm actually taking sleeping tablets to get some rest."
While Sharon Osbourne is said to be "distraught" over Louis's threat to quit, Cowell is refusing to apologise again.
"It's very simple. I've apologised to Louis. If he turns up, he turns up. If he doesn't, he doesn't. I'm now focusing on the contestants, as we all should," he explained. "They are the most important part of the show."
Sharon's daughter Kelly added, "My mum is distraught to see Louis so upset - he is genuinely very hurt. She's been trying to call him to sort it out."
