You know on the television they have adverts for Sky you choose things that You want to watch, anyone got it, is it any good.
My friends got it and it's far better than freeview or telewest.
I am giving in to my kids and getting Sky on Monday. I don't know if it is worth the money for the programmes - you can only watch one thing at a time - but it will be worth it to get the kids to stop nagging me!

we are getting sky plus on wednesday. i dont really want the package, we have just got the most basic you could get but wanted it for the way you can record programmes etc
We have sky +. Had sky since it was launched and then upgraded to sky + earlier this year. We have the full package unfortunately for my bank balance, so don't do the mix and match thingy. Love Sky though, wouldn't get rid, but would prefer it if they didn't charge so much!

so which one is the advert doing..
The advert is saying that you can pick and choose which programmes you want to be able to view, for differing amounts per month - its a good idea, we are just used to being able to watch all of them so haven't changed

so it not sky plus or anything
The same applies to Sky +. We have Sky + and you can choose your own packages on that one too. We have just had the same for so long now, and like watching all the different types of channels (movies, sports etc) so we just pay for the full whack. This way though, if you only like sport, you can pay for the basic pack and then sports on top if that makes sense :D

Yeah- i know what it is as we don't want sport- we just wanted the programmes like E4- skyone and stuff in that box and We want movie and not children programme but it seen to come with the movies- i was just wondering what it was like and if it was like sky+ so that i don't need to find tape to rec things
Sky + is the best though Tigs for sure - I dont know what we ever did without it!! No tapes, no hassle, and all the perks etc - def go for sky + if you can, I'd recommend it for sure

but i would love to have sky+ as it will be fun not to have to find a tape
It is great not having to worry about finding a tape and making sure im not about to record over something, plus you can copy from sky to the video, so if you tape loads of stuff, and then want to keep it, you just copy it over and there you go - done it with quite a lot of littley's programmes
I got the sky + equipment yesterday, but my viewing card hasn't arrived yet. I have a question for Em. Can you get channel 4 and channel 5 on sky plus, because they do not appear on my online tv guide. I don't know if this is because I haven't got the card yet or if they are not on sky.

our sky+ got fitted today. it is really good, even though we only have the minimum package. we have already recorded the bill on it, it is so easy to do!
We have sky +. Had sky since it was launched and then upgraded to sky + earlier this year. We have the full package unfortunately for my bank balance, so don't do the mix and match thingy. Love Sky though, wouldn't get rid, but would prefer it if they didn't charge so much! I have had sky since launch too, rang to get rid of channels I dont use.music and kids,I will save a whole£1 :rotfl: .then I said take off movies havent watch a film on sky in years to old. so I now save £7.50.the guy said dont get rid till after xmas, they have a deal going the full package for £20 instead of £42.50. for good custumers for three months, so I have still got all the packages and will save £67.50 over the three months not bad for a quick call :cheer:
I got my viewing card, and channels 4 & 5 have now appeared. Sky + is wonderful. You can record 2 things at once and you can also record subtitles - which i use as I am deaf, so I am v. v. pleased
