Cannon and Ball have surprised the other contestants by joining I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Tommy Cannon, 67, and Bobby Ball, 61, turned up at the jungle camp in the early hours after rumours they would be taking part.

They arrived by helicopter after two days hiding at a secret location in Australia's Byron Bay. Sid Owen and Jenny Frost had been sent to a heliport in search of the Celebrity Chest when a chopper came into view and dropped the pair off.

Bobby wore his trademark red braces as his luxury item and his catchphrase "Rock On, Tommy!" was soon ringing around the camp. And they made Sid and Jenny envious when they boasted of enjoying a full cooked breakfast before setting off for the camp.

Tommy admitted: "We're so excited but we're very nervous." He also confessed to a fear of spiders and snakes.

As they walked back towards the camp, the other celebrities heard the voices and wondered who was joining them. Their identity was not much of a surprise to Jimmy Osmond, who said: "I bet it's Cannon and Ball."

All gave the newcomers a warm welcome, except David Dickinson. Tommy and Bobby are big fans of the Bargain Hunt presenter, but he looked distinctly unimpressed to see them.

He stood back while the others introduced themselves, then told them: "Now, we've got a good group here. Everyone has worked together." The perma-tanned presenter immediately tried to unsettle the duo.

He told Bobby: "I'm not joking. You're going to lose some weight. We're on rations like you won't believe." Bobby replied: "David, we've just come in. What's the positive?"

David said: "There aren't a lot of positives, Bobby. I tell you, you're locked in now. It's tough. Wait until you see some of the challenges." They could be in trouble if they make it to the final because it clashes with the first day of their pantomime rehearsals in Hull.
