Kat worries about Alfie as he hasn’t opened his stall, but a devastated Alfie is at home listening to Nana’s voice on the answering machine.
Martin, meanwhile, feels uncomfortable when he is out with Sonia’s friends, who make him feel even more alienated.
Elsewhere, the Miller’s survey their tatty Christmas decorations. Keith suggests making their own but Darren comes up with a plan.

Jake can’t believe it when he realises that Alfie has kept Nana’s secret for so long. Elsewhere, Johnny is furious with what he finds in Ruby’s bag.

The Square prepares for Nana’s funeral and Alfie puts on a brave face as he tries to write his speech for the service.
The whole Square turns out dressed in black, with a splash of their favourite colour, as Nana requested.

Sonia moves out and Martin desperately tries to hold things together as he tells Pauline that she won’t be joining them for Christmas.
Elsewhere, Ruby worries about telling her dad that she’s moved out. However, Stacey manages to convince her that there is no time like the present and the two head off to find him.

After losing Nana, Alfie is unsure of what to do with his life but decides his future is not in Walford. But will he manage to sort things out with Kat before he leaves?
Following Pauline’s surprise, things are still strained between Sonia and Martin as they try to find a reason to get through the day together.

Sharon apologises to Johnny for Dennis’s behaviour but something about his manner suggests that the matter is far from over.
Elsewhere, Rosie visits Nora and has an awkward encounter with Mike.

Sharon goes to see Pat and tells her everything. Pat warns Sharon to take the threat seriously, but will she listen?
Meanwhile, Ruby is proud of Juley for standing up to Johnny.

Sharon and Dennis spend their final minutes in the flat as they prepare to leave the Square and spend New Year’s Eve with Vicki.
Meanwhile, after spotting a chink in Phil’s armour, Johnny continues to wind him up.

The New Year’s Eve festivities continue in Albert Square. Dennis antagonises Phil, telling him how meeting Sharon has changed his life. In his final attempt to get Dennis to take the bait, Phil drops a bombshell…

Deano Wicks arrives in the Square having hitch-hiked a lift in a van. He wanders around looking for his great aunt Pat and ends up meeting lots of the residents along the way.
When he eventually finds Pat, she agrees to let him stay but is fully aware that she is in the presence of a typical Wicks charmer.
wow.. still not word of a murder in the Square but it looks like there will be many fights between dennis/phil/johnny

Oh gosh...all the johnny/phil/ dennis thing looks like its leading up to dennis' death :crying: I was still REALLY hoping he would not be dying...hoping it would be someone else :crying:

If it's definetely one of those then it has to be Johnny, or one of the men that works for him. Phil isn't a murderer. Dennis may get on his nerves, but I don't think he hates him that much. He wouldn't do that to Sharon. He had the chance to kill him before (on the night that Dennis murdered Dalton) and he didn't. He's a lot more of a coward than Dennis is.
It seems that Johnny is the only possibility, unless it's an accidental death. Like he's hit by a car or something.

I think Dennis will die and Johnny will be responsible. Johnny is also leaving anyway so it makes sense rather than Phil. I don't think Phil would ever do that to Sharon even though he may be tempted at times. LOL.
I think Sharon and Dennis have been through so much that they couldn't just have it as they spllit up, or one of them cheat. The only way is if Dennis dies as we all know Sharon is only taking a break and is coming back to the show in the new year.

It says that Sharon and Dennis spend Christmas Day in A&E.
Obviously Dennis doesn't die then as he's in episodes after that. It also says that there is a shooting and someone ends up dead. This is in either The Sun or The Mirror - they both have Christmas previews in them today.

I think he will die because it has been confirmed that Johnny pulls the trigger, that Sharon is devastated and there's been funeral pictures. Also, it would make sense because Sharon and Dennis spend christmas day in a+e and Dennis gets shot so it looks like Sharon goes to the hospital to visit Dennis so she can spend christmas with him and then he dies on new years eve?

Did anyone see The Frank Skinner show last night with Nigel Harman? He was saying his final scenes are being aired on New Years Eve but wouldn't say what happened, its got to me him who's murdered. I reckon its something to do with Phil.
No I didn't. Nigel said on this morning that he wasn't leaving until the new year so maybe he is shot on new years eve and dies a few days later in hospital.

I know, Christmas deaths are always especially sad. I bet I'll be crying watching both of them. Nana Moon because I love her character, and I actually found that episode of them in France quite moving, despite my reservations. And Dennis's death is going to be devestating, him and Sharon looking forward to the future (maybe having a baby), and everything will be snatched away from them. It's just awful!
I hope they drag the Dennis's death out, like they did Jamie. I know everybody will be in tears, but I want them to have a proper conversation before he dies. Like Jamie had with Sonia. I can just imagine him talking about their baby and what he wants for it, and how he wants Sharon to be happy, and not to grieve for him too much. I'm upset just thinking about it.

Yes, but the way Sharon's been talking about it, it is as if she can never have children, so I'm not surprised people are confused about this.
What i've heard on Digital Spy is that, the doctor tells her she's pregnant but there is a good chance if she goes through with it, there could be complications, and she may even die during childbirth. But apparently they decide to go ahead with it.

Yeah, she has. If this is true, I hope they clarify it on screen -- have someone say they thought she couldn't get pregnant, and then have Sharon say that there was always the slim chance. Otherwise I think people may be confused.
Sharon was told that she could never have kids so she can't exactly tell people that there's a very slim chance of it can she because she doesn't even know herself.

She does know that there's a chance -- she tried IVF in the States, and when Phil wanted them to have kids Dr Trueman told him that there was a chance she'd be able to.
I thought Dr Trueman told them that there was no chance and that was why they were thinking of adopting.

I can't remember what Dr Trueman said, it was such a long time ago. Maybe Sharon just didn't want to go through with trying to conceive naturally, because she knew it wasn't very likely, and she didn't want to put herself through the heartache of it all.
I thought Dennis and Sharon would be using protection. I know it's not always 100 percent effective, but if she's finding it difficult to get pregnant using a condom is going to make it pretty much impossible to conceive I would say. I remember when Zoe announced she was pregnant last year, Dennis was quite bewildered of how it happened because he did use protection, and he said to Sharon that he always uses it (and he mentioned he used a condom with Sharon as well).

When did he use a condom with Sharon. They're not sleeping around so they couldn't pass any sexually transmitted diseases and they think that she's infertile so there's not exactly any point in using protection.

Maybe they've stopped using protection since they've been married, but I do remember Dennis saying (when him and Sharon were having a fight on Christmas Day about Zoe being pregnant with Dennis's baby) that he had only had sex with Zoe a few times and that he had used a condom, like him and Sharon had done. He actually said that him and Sharon had used protection, and that he always did with every woman that he had been with.

I believe Sonia moves out beause of the problems Martin had after finding out about the Naomi/Sonia kiss :sick: ...totally revolting. I would have rather seen Dot and Pauline or Patrick and Jim kiss. It certainly would have been as believable as Naomi and Sonia!

I'd say you've had a lot of unprotected sex with a lot of people then you need to. Of course, if that's your lifestyle then you should have an AIDs test even if you aren't planning on sleeping with your partner. But if you know who your past partners have been and that they were safe I'd say it would be just a precautionary method.

Jake is at the funeral. I think they can get away with Danny -- he couldn't come because of Johnny. But they'll have to think of a good excuse for Spencer not being there.
She only has 4 people in her family it doesnt take that much. They looked liked they do anything for her then they dont turn up to the funeral.
( i know that Alfie and Jake are going but Spencer is her Grandson who she arived on the square with)

MOON DUST
After celebrating an early Christmas with a devoted Alfie and Jake, dear old Nana passes peacefully away
This is sad but true. Jesus wants Nana for a Moonbeam and His request couldn’t come at more poignant time.
For the departure of soapland’s most loved grandmother to that great grannie flat in the sky happens as she and devoted grandson Alfie prepare for Christmas, and what would have been her 85th birthday.
Wonderfully played by veteran actress Hilda Braid, Nana has been a sweet and caring presence in Albert Square for just over three years. And while she gives the impression of being slightly dotty and frail, she has an indomitable spirit for life.
Destined to be a widow forever, she was jilted on her wedding day by con man Wilfred, evicted from the Vic by Dirty Dirty Den last Christmas, and then diagnosed with a terminal illness.
But throughout it all, she has retained her indefatigable sense of humour and continued to dispense compassionate advice while seeing grandson Spencer go off to Australia, great nephews Jake The Lad and Dangerous Danny run wild, and Alfie’s marriage collapse.
Delightedly working her way through that famous wish list of things to do before she dies, this week Kat has bought her a hat for a day at the races – even if means just popping down the bookies to put £20 on a 14-1 rank outsider.
Relieved that Alfie is now back managing the Vic, all Nana wants for Christmas is a beautifully decorated tree, a stockpile of dates, a dancing penguin or snowman – and her boys roasting their chestnuts over an open fire.
Touchingly, she also gives Kat a sealed envelope on Friday. ‘It’s all right,’ she tells her. ‘It’s just that it’s my final wish. And it’s not something that Alfie can do. You keep it safe and, when it’s time, open it. You’ll know what to do.’
Bumping off such a well-loved character may be seen as a way to bump up ratings, but this is a moving story of ashes to ashes, dust to Moon dust…
Shane Richie is again excellent as Alfie who is carrying the burden of Nana’s imminent death. But at least Jake returns and, after a violent row, Alfie persuades him to help decorate the tree. Ominously, Nana breaks with tradition and refuses to place the golden Angel on top.
Jake also buys her an electric snowman and, after happily playing charades, he leaves Alfie and Nana alone together on the sofa. It is then that the snowman stops dancing and Alfie gets up.
‘Uh-oh,’ he laughs. ‘Looks like I’ll ’ave to get some new batteries for this then. Not to worry. Probably ’ave to get a job lot tomorrow, won’t I?’
Sadly, Nana passes away – and it will take more than a few Ever Readies to revive her…

As much as Demi is still grieving for Leo, for all Sonia’s marital troubles she seems to be the right person to give advice on how to get over losing a loved one. Visiting Jamie’s grave isn’t exactly a fun day out, but it helps Demi decide to get Leo a proper headstone, with the help of that cash Diddy Darren has stashed under his bed. But there could be another death if Sonia’s rows with Martin The Moron go on and Pauline continues to meddle. After she passes her nursing exams, he is still dismissive of her – and she has had enough. ‘There are two wimmin in this house,’ she barks at him, ‘an’ you married the wrong one!’

Oh what a sad story this is gonna be, but u guys gotta admit, this is a nicer build up than diggin up ol wormy Den..its going to be heart tugging, and I admit I am gonna bawl:crying: :crying: ,, I know alot of you people have been down on how BORING Nana's character has been, but she at least was sweet and kind and never caused any harm to any one.. she was one of the GOOD ONES..I honestly am happy EE is giving her such a nice send off..Hilda Braid deserves kudos and Shane as well for putting such emotion in his part ...:crying:

i thought so too until I read more spoilers but what happens is Sharon interferes with Johnny relationship with Ruby, johnny treatens her and she tells Phil, of course phil been a s**t stirrer he goes and tells Dennis. Dennis beats up Johnny and johnny kills him or at least gets someone to kill him.... so in the end it is actually Phil's fault, Sharon was taking Dennis away from the square but phil went and told Dennis why?
Today I read that Sharon and Dennis are preparing to leave (Dennis gives Pat first refusal on the bookies) when Phil tells Dennis that Johnny has assulted Sharon and something about Ruby. She moves out before this happens and Sharon and Dennis are on her side and think that she is doing the right thing by moving in with Juley. Dennnis then goes after Johnny and things get violent. Dennis beats Johnny to within an inch of his life and goes across the square to join Sharon. "It is the journey that he never completes", says Nigel Harman who plays Dennis.
I also read that the events shock Sharon so badly that she is unable to speak.
In the week 3 spoilers it says Johnny takes Ruby on holiday. Presumably then she doesn't know that Dennis's death is anything to do with Johnny or surely she would disown him (again).
Personally I would prefer it if everyone knew it was down to Johnny.
I think Ruby will find out from Sharon when they get back from the holiday and then it would be the beginning of Johnny's downfall and Ruby would be involved in it as spoilers have said.
