View Full Version : Martin and Sonia
Does anyone know whats going to happen with Martin and Sonia ? in one of the soap magazines it said for the next issue can Martin stop Sonia walking out ? I know Pauline meets Chloe and arranges for Sonia to see her again on Sonia's birthday but I don't know how Sonia reacts to this.

that has got to relly upset sonia - she so wanted to stay in touch with chloe/rebecca but was forced to face the truth that she no longer had any rights and so agreed not to see her which broke her heart she is trying to carry on but now has it all brought up again by pauline.
although im sure another part of her will just be glad to see her again however painfull

I hope Martin, Sonia and Pauline all leave soon and take Ian with them.
FOWLERS + BEALES = BORING
You will have a very long wait! There is nothing boring about the characters you mention but I guess age has a lot to do with opinion. I prefer the characters that have been there a long time, who have history, and with whom we can identify with. These characters generally have character based storylines and that is what EE does best. We need more of this and less of the big rubbishy storylines that have caused viewers to turn off in their thousands.
But to get back to Sonia and Martin, all I've heard is that Pauline wants to go after Chloe, Martin is against it and Sonia starts wavering and getting upset over her daughter again. Pauline really ought to stay out of their lives, it's only going to cause problems for the couple. She deserves to be the sad, lonely woman she is, she is so selfish. Sonia and Martin should get out as fast as possible.
Martin and Sonia can be boring but they have some very good storylines, Natalie Cassidy is superb. Pauline wants to get her beak out of it and let Marin and Sonia live their lives and do what is best for them and not what is best for her. Martin should tell Pauline to butt out more and not keep gving in all the time. Pauline needs a good man to divert her attention away from Martin and Sonia. I'm not sure what my views are on the Sonia/Martin/Chloe storyline. Part of me thinks yes Sonia should now go for custody as she can provide a good home for her, can now give her the financial support which she couldn't originally and definitely give her all the loving that she needs. Of course though Sonia might have to re-think her career plans. The other part of me says no leave Chloe where she is with the people she looks upon as her family, as by taking her away from them could lead to problems for Chloe. There again Chloe is still young enough to adjust. A difficult one.
In the latest set of spoilers it says that Pauline talks about nothing but Chloe and plays Sonia and Martin off against each other. Sonia tells Martin to sort it and it ends with them moving to the Brannings leaving Pauline sitting alone in the Fowlers! Ooh, serves her right, selfish, interfering woman! :nono:
i don't blame them cause Pauline is enough to drive anyone insane,Chloe is Adopted so there is no way she can get her back

I don't think Sonia goes along with Pauline's plan. From the new spoilers, it seems Sonia is very much commited to Martin. I don't think she wants to go behind his back, (I may be too optimistic here) but maybe she is even coming round too his way of thinking. She did apologise to Martin after they had said their goodbye's to Rebecca. She wants too be with their daughter, but she does have a good life with her gran, and that's important.
I'm sure Sonia is very tempted by Pauline's idea. She can't stand the fact, she has to walk away from her child, but she also loves her husband, she has a marraige, and that's important too. I have a feeling Sonia may come round to Pauline's ideas soon enough, Sonia must be feeling the strain already. It's difficult for everyone.

Why does Rebecca's gran let Pauline visit, that's what I'm wondering? According to the spoilers she arranges the visit with her, if Sonia and Martin have said their goodbyes to her surely Rebecca's gran doesn't want Pauline turning up out of the blue. And she has every right to turn her away.

Do think this storyline is going to be put too rest, if it turns out Sonia is pregnant?
Yes, I think that Sonia will get pregnant and that will be the end of the storyline as they will all look to the future. Judging from the spoilers Pauline is alone in wanting to fight for Chloe.

It would be so great if Sonia and Martin had a baby. It has been said that Pauline is being quite selfish wanting to fight for Rebecca because she feels that she has the right to see at least one of her grandchildren growing up. Another baby may stop Pauline from continuing with this pointless exercise. And of course I want Sonia and Martin to be happy together.
Apparently Natalie Cassidy was on GMTV this morning. She was talking about the Chloe storyline and also the research that EE has done into this. So, whatever happens can happen. Did anyone see her?

I didn't see that, I am on holiday from work this week. From what Natalie said did it seem that Martin and Sonia were going to get Rebecca back? What exactly did she say?
I hope Martin, Sonia and Pauline all leave soon and take Ian with them.

They are some of the most long serving and best characters on show. It would be sin for ee to let them go (in my opinion). All the characters you mentioned are integral to the shows history as there characters roots are in Walford.
Sonia especially is one of my all time favourites and has a good head on her shoulders. Natalie Cassidy is a fine actress and no matter what storyline she has, she always delivers.

I agree. I love Sonia's character and it's made better by Natalie Cassidy's terrific acting ability. When I think back to Eastenders finest moments, a lot of them have her in it. It's amazing that somebody so young can have acheived so much, she is an asset.
I also love Martin and Sonia's relationship, and I think James's acting ability has also strengthened through the years. And there is no question about Wendy Richard being a brilliant actress. I love the Fowler family, and am looking forward to the upcoming episodes with them all.
P.S- Please tell me what Natalie Cassidy said on GMTV, I really want to know!
I don't know, that is what I'm trying to find out!! :)

its mandy that is pregnant form hollyoaks
We already knew about Mandy Prettypayal. :) The secret snippet in Inside Soap last week was about a storyline that is coming up in the future. And the person involved would be over the moon, Mandy certainly isn't! ;)

I don't watch Hollyoaks but I have read that Mandy wants an abortion, although she has just recently married. It would be good if it was Sonia who was having the baby, but I am unsure about it as I know the Rebecca storyline is continuing for a long time too come (according to Natalie Cassidy, this weeks Inside Soap). Sonia could still have another baby, but it does seem a little less likely. It would be difficult for them to cope with 2 children at such a young age, I know people do it, but it is a big responsibility.
What exactly did the snippet say in the magazine? I'm getting different things from different people. I know the women is a newly wed who is thrilled about the pregnancy. She is named a soap sweetheart. Anything else, and when is it said this is going to happen?
I've just thought about somebody it could be, Clare from Coronation Street. I hadn't thought of her before now. She's not long married Ashley, they are a bit of a golden couple in the Street. Ashely's been through a lot with Maxine's murder and everything. Them having a new baby may encourage them to look to the future. And I suppose 'soap sweetheart' would fit the bill.

I can't say anything bad about Martin and Sonia I'm afraid, I think they're great. They've both been through so much in their lives and everything that has happened has just made their relationship stronger. I want them to stay together forever.

Does anybody else think Clare from Corrie might be the 'soap sweetheart' and 'newly wed' who becomes pregnant?

I would much rather see Sonia and Martin have a baby, but I do think it would be nice for Clare and Ashley to have a child of their own.

Does anybody know what Pauline's big plan is to get Rebecca back in the Fowler family? A lot of magazines I've read have pointed out that she's got something up her sleeve to ensure this happens. Does anyone have any idea what it is? Do you think it's something illegal or some set up?
Maybe Pauline frames Margaret, and pretends she's abused Rebecca or something. Or questions her state of mind, making her out to be forgetful, something along the lines of what Richard did with Audrey in Corrie. I know their long shots, but worth a guess. Any ideas?
