View Full Version : Chico Facing Plagorism Charge
After performing his own 'original' song 'Chico Time' on this week's show, it may have seemed like Chico had entertained and amused the nation once again, but at least one person didn't see the funny side. Spanish guitarist Chico Buarque recognised it as a shameless copy of his own 1960's hit. Buarque's lawyers are pressing for action that will see the X-Factor contestant pay royalties to the ageing artist, swear never to perform the song again, and swallow hemlock.

I thought that the song was good but I was kinda wondering where the catch was
Its that Mark you "wrote" it that should be getting the stick, not Chico though.

he said yesteday on the xtra factor or whatever it is called on ITV 2 that he will release it as soon as he gets the go ahead.
So his catchphrase "its chico time" was just copied from this other bloke all the time yeah? Or was it a coincidence? I bet its just another publicity stunt! This has happened loads of times with other people, I'm sure it did happen with the Cheeky Girls and then nothing came of it.
