Most colleges have another intake of students after xmas so they are enrolling now. The new term for new students at the college I work for is at the end of January but most of the classes will be fast-tracked. This means you do a 36 week course in 18 weeks. If you are planning to stay at college a couple of years then you would probably be advised to wait until next summer to begin or you can do courses through open learning where you can enrol all year round. If in doubt give the college a phone and ask them

My friends who are wanting to go to collegea re applying in about 2 weeks. The school tells us when we should get moving with these things. I'm probably going to sixth form though, so i haven't really listened to all of the stuff they go on about to do with college

depends on the college, when we were applying, my mates applied between about november and february, so im sure youve still got some time left if you want to start next september

If you are planning to start in September then you won't be able to apply until after easter as colleges are dealing with applications for starting in Jan

Are you talking about a sixth form college or a further education college?

I would suggest that if it is a sixth form college you contact your LEA asap to find out the application deadlines. In Scotland the cut off is the 21st December to start the following August. If it is a college of further education the contact the college directly for advise.

Remember, if there are places then most FE colleges and sixth form colleges will let you apply late.

The cut off for University applications through UCAs is 15th January, if you don't want to go through clearing.

On my Application Form it says Design Technology (meaning what grade you got) but at school i did two Design Technology subjects and there is only one line so do i write 2 after Design Technology than put my two grades down by themselves

Trinity

I would put :
(1 & 2) after the text Design Technology and then A & B or whatever where the grade goes

Trinity

It means that you need at least 3 GCSEs at D or above, and that one of them has to be English

Oh Tigs! Are you far off it? Sometimes colleges let in people with slightly lower grades if they have spare places. You should always apply anyway, but look for other options, too.
