my speakers arent working,they were fine this morning and now there is no sound coming from them at all.anyone got any idea what could be wrong? yes they are plugged in and the lights are on the front but no sound is coming out,now im no pc ecpert as you may well have guessed but is there anything on the pc itself that has an option to mute? help me please as i want to listen to a vid clip asap

Go into the start menu, open up control panel double click on sounds and audio option and check that the mute button are not ticked
down the bottom of screen where clock is is there a speaker picture?? click it and see if your volume is down to mute??

Oh that happens to me chance... just give it a day...or try restarting your computer...
... or go to the little speaker thing at the bottom, right-click and click Open volume controls and make sure everything is ok.. (For version Windows 2000...)
well spicy its been a day and still no sound,have restarted pc several times and still nothing! soundless! :crying:

Put the thing on the volume bar up a bit anyway, that usually works for me.

umm it might be cause they are blown lol. mine did that cause i always used to have my music too loud
is the volume turned up on the speakers??? (this is always happening to me)
have you checked your soundcard is properly in its slot

right im prob about to make myself sound stupid but whats a soundcard?
the soundcard is the gizmo inside your computer that generates the sound
Check you have your speakers plugged in to a speaker socket and not a microphone socket
