SHARON Osbourne has been rapped by X Factor bosses for her sleazy exchanges with contestant Shayne Ward.

The TV judge - who has been shamelessly flirting with the pop wannabe - has been ordered to tone it down for the pre-watershed audience.

On Saturday night, Sharon suggestively told a blushing Shayne: "I've got something to give you. It's warm and lovely and nice-smelling.""

When asked what it was, he replied: "That is between me and her. I'm getting it later."

Sharon - crowned most popular expert at the National TV Awards - then refused to tell exasperated fellow judge Simon Cowell exactly what she had in store for the Mancunian.

But viewers were left with little doubt about 53-year-old Sharon's feelings for Shayne, 21, who is one of the favourites to win the competition.

Their exchange, laden with double meanings, infuriated show bosses who deemed it too racy for youngsters tuning in at 6.15pm.

An insider revealed: "Sharon appears to have forgotten this is a family show.

"We have lots of young viewers who love to tune in every week to watch their favourite acts.

"It's not really appropriate for Sharon to talk to Shayne in that overtly flirtatious way.

"Everyone loves Sharon and she is great entertainment but on this occasion she has gone just that little bit too far.

"She was given a slap on the wrist after Saturday night's show and asked to cool it."

Sharon, married to veteran rocker Ozzy Osbourne, also flirted with Shayne on the previous week's show.

She blew him a kiss and jokily told him that she would like to grab hold of his private parts while he sang the high notes of the Daniel Bedingfield track If You're Not The One.

He made her giggle by singing one of the high parts again.

Meanwhile, Louis Walsh is understood to have called his remaining three acts into his dressing room for a pep-talk after Saturday's show.

He urged them to put their trust in him after Phillip McGee was sent home, following his own choice of song Johnny B. Goode.

A source said: "Louis was very keen to stress to his acts that they should put their faith in him if they want to win.

"He is very experienced and he knows what he is doing."
