Kevin Federline's fledgling singing career has been dealt a serious blow after his wife Britney Spears was unable to stop laughing at his first recordings.

According to US mag In Touch, a friend claims Kevin's songs were "greeted with hurtful laughter from his superstar wife, who was unimpressed".

Apparently Britney reckons Kevin's debut CD might sell "a hundred, maybe a thousand" copies if he's lucky.

"Kevin looked really hurt," noted the source.
