Well seeing as BB bought up the lovely Simone on another post heres some info on her new role
"With thanks to Simone's agents for the news that Simone is to be involved in the 2006 series of Wire in the Blood on ITV.
It is series 4, and Simone's character is called Alex.
As yet we have no further information available"

The fourth series of Wire in the Blood will begin filming in the North East of England in January 2006. It is scheduled to be shown on ITV1 in Spring 2006.
great news! glad to hear shes finding new work! loved her as helen stewart! ive always be praying for a comeback to larkhall...the look on fenners face would have been a picture!

I know! I think her and Mandana (Nikki Wade) who is also about to drop a bubba anytime now, didnt wanna be typecast anymore, like Debra really! Althought Simone and Mandana had been in other things before BG.
Id love to see them both back in BG but its not gonna happen! which is ashame

to be fair the nicki/helen thing had come to a natural concluson,they couldnt keep on with i love you i hate you i love you but i cant be with you but i want you but i dont etc...it was starting to get boring by the end of series 3... nicki wade's character had been good, but id love to see her back, but seen as not many of the original cast remain it wouldnt have as much of an effect.

I dunno they could show some scenes on the outside of the prison gates, but it was really good how the out stretched the storlyline unlike the whole "oat and sheena" things saying how they loved each other after 3 eps lol

that is a bit ridiculous in 3 eps, there are not many characters that i like in bad girls anymore, its lost its spark, if this series does not impress me then i think it will be the last, series 7 was the worst so far!

Nah the series just gone wasnt the worst! It got a tad better, its definately lost its grittiness, its took a few pages from the whole Fottie Wives book, which isnt a good move, they need to have less glamour, and focus on more realistic issues like in the past.
There only 3 characters left from the 1st ever ep, 2 Julies and Bodybag, who are my favs now, you cant beat the old cast
i agree, as good as darlene is shes brougth the show to a more comical level, the first 2 series were really gritty, especially the death of rachel hicks! series 7 for me is so dier as it didnt have much to keep my glued, i only watched becuase im loyal to the show... i may not buy this on dvd, if i do its only to comeplet ethe collection of bad girls dvds....
saying that i looovvveee natalie buxton and the costa cons, they are fabulous, as soon as bodybag and the 2 julies go tough the show will go to the pitz, this is the problem with all dramas that have strong characters and storylines from the start, when they all start to leave it isnt the same, footballers wives and cutting it being prime examples

Yeah i have every series on dvd except the 6th which im waiting to get on eBay at a low price lol, but im the same im a loyal fan, never missed an ep, there still parts of each ep i like but theres others that are silly!
Costas are great, Natalie im still a bit not sure about, Darlene ive grown to like a lot. When she first come on the scene i was like "OMG her accent is awful" but gradually found her really entertaining.
Im am sad Fenner is dead though, he was a b*****d but the guy was a great character
i cant believe how off topic we have gone from the orginal content!!! but im enjoying this bad girls chat...not many people are as big a fan as the show as me, so its good to have a chat about it whenever possible. seen as its only us 2 chatting in here it dosent really matter that its gone off topic!

But anyway i will be there cheering the Bad Girls on at the National TV Awards, ill be surprised if they win, although they did take the trophy at the Inside Soap Awards and the last time they did that was a few years back when Series 3 ended so keeping my fingers crossed!!

i dont think they will win, so much tough comepetiton this year, but id love them to win it, thing is series 7 wasnt the best of series to deserve it and then theres a lot of people who dont watch it as its "trashy" "unrealistic" "violent" "OTT" "fuelled with sex and drugs etc" whereas as shows such as the bill and doctor who are suitable to a wiider audience, im not agreeingf with the statements but thats what has been said about the show by critics and by snobby older generations.

Oh yeah i can imagine! Dunno what the big deal is with Dr Who though, fictional tv is not my thing really. The Bill has been getting better over the past few years IMO so i think they will win again. It did take them years to win their first NTA trophy which amazed me. But then BG did make the final 4 so whatever the result it still shows its a watched programme

its a saturday night family drama...its filled a big gap in the market...any show in that slot would have done good really to be fair, and yes the bill is superb these days but not better than bad girls!
