Phil Daniels (interesting)

i noticed something quite funny when i was watching the eastenders omnibus about a week ago. you know how phil daniels is joining th cast of eastenders? and he sings part of the song parklife? well they were playing parklife in the caff (or the vic, can't remember). i find it quite funny how phil daniels is joining eastenders as kevin wicks, but his song was featured in eastenders with him singing as phil daniels :confused: you get where i'm coming from?

you know how good eastenders are at iventing distant relatives out of nowhere: stacey to the slaters, billy to the mitchells, jake and danny to the moons, he will probably we some ex third cousin once removed by marraige in law or someat silly and unbelivable like that, but we'll be meant to believe Pat's known about him forever, but never once mentioned it! :wall:

No soap family ever mentions these relatives until they appear on screen because the cast needs a boost. The endless supply of Dingle cousins in Emmerdale proves that. Whenever one leaves, another appears. Similar with Mike Baldwin in Corrie. Used to be an only child, well until the writers wanted to give him a family.

All the soaps do it as it is an easy way to boost cast members and keep family units intact. They bought Stacey in because the Slater numbers were decreasing, and they are bringing in Deano and Kevin because Pat needs a family, and Simon and David are unlikely ever to come back.

I do actually remember that song being played - I think it must have fitted quite well with what was going on so I noticed it. I didn't make the connection with Phil Daniels though - well spotted!! :)

To be honest I didn't know myself, but I think someone on here said he was in the video for the Parklife song and he was in some films as well? :searchme: Think it was in another thread somewhere.

We all have family members we never mention, and would never care for but in soapland everybody seems to be close knit.
