Mickey Webb returns.. it's official

Thames TV this morning confirmed that Mickey Webb / Chris Simmons has indeed returned to The Bill.

He IS back and he has started filming and will be seen very soon.

The word is that he returns on screen at end of Oct beginning of November. So not long to go now eh!!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

DCI Jack Meadows is a thoroughly seasoned police officer and, being ex murder squad, has seen most of the gruesome sights a copper can see. He doesn't suffer fools gladly and can appear brusque, but is not slow in showing praise when it's due. He is tough and keeps a close eye on his CID officers without unnecessary interference. He is aware that he's nearing retirement age but has no desire to leave the service. Deep down he is terrified of life without the police. Being DCI Meadows is so integral to his character that he's not sure how he'd cope with being just Jack.

Jack's Achilles heal is his weakness for younger women. He looked after Debbie during her pregnancy and subsequently allowed himself to be manipulated by her. Nothing ever happened between these two but Jack has always had a soft spot for her and has let her get away with murder.

Jack was happily married for many years but when the children left home the cracks in his marriage to Laura started to show. She resented his overriding commitment to his job and came the realisation that he was no longer in love with her. During a period of separation, Jack became involved with Rachel Heath, a woman accused of assaulting a teenage boy who had broken into her home. As investigating officer on her case, Jack knew the huge risk he was taking in starting a relationship with Rachel and when her later found out that she was a high-class escort, the stakes were even higher.

Eventually the pressure got too much for Jack and her chose to leave Rachel (the love of his life) and return to Laura whom he could see needed him more than ever.
