There are so many good characters amongst the females on the Bill as well as some totally overated ones. In my opinion the finest has to be the wonderful Sgt. June Ackland. A brilliant officer who is firm but fair and has handled the transition from Constable to Sergeant admirably

but sam nixon is good to, my fave, i dont know why she is i just like her character!!!

Sam Nixon is very overated. She let her personal life take over. In real life she would have been demoted over her stunts. I was delighted when she didnt get made up to acting DI

i thought you would say she was one of the overated ones, but i like her but i agree she shouldnt have gt the promotion, she is a better character now, she isnt all pwer mad!!!

Gina and Jo are my two favourite females in TB at present. Every time either of them is involved in a storyline I know it will be well portrayed and thoroughly enjoyable to watch. Both characters have great wit and are played by brilliant actresses.

i think gina is brilliant, really strong character, but if we are talking women past aswell i thought that liz rawton was a good no nonsense policewoman. a bit like gina, and good at their jobs.

I think the females in the bill are sooo much stronger than the men! Mainly the CID girls and June n Gina of cors!! Thats especially why i enjyed the David Russo stuff cos it focussed on the girls and there strenghths lol!

My all time favourite is Sam ino alot you think shes over rated but i really do think that Lisa Maxwells portrayal of the character is excellent! In a very close second place is Jo she has grown to be one of the strongest characters in a short space of time. Paul Marquess did alot of bad things to the bill but bringing Jo in was one of his best ideas!! I also love Gina n Ramani to!!

i like all the females in the bill- especially gina when prosser was there. she showed another side to her character that i thought i would never see.

i know she isnt the strongest character, but i really like amber she is soo good, very entertaining!!!! jo is good aswell and gina, i dont to about ramani!!!! i used to like polly page but then she got really annoying!!!

Sam is okay but I think she is nowhere on a par with Jo and Gina. That's my opinion of course so don't shoot me down in flames.

She was a diaster as acting DI she let the power go to her head the post of DI is a very responsible one not one for a maverick glory hunter self opionated person like Sam Nixon

yeah but she solved quite a few cases eg the serial killer even though she did put her life in danger but everyones allowed thier own opinion

I like most that people have already mentioned such as Sgt June Ackland, Insp Gina Gold, DS Sam Nixon, DC Liz Rawton, PC Cass Rickman, DC Jo Masters, PC Honey Harman, PC Laura Bryant for moving up in the ranks from member of public to PCSO then to a PC, PC Sheelagh Murphy, PC Debbie Keane, PC Polly Page, DS Debbie McAllister but not at first then she grew on me, DC Eva Sharpe, DS Claire Stanton, PC Di Worrall, DC Kerry Holmes and not forgetting the first woman officer to be killed in The Bill I believe DC Viv Martella.

yeah kerry was a good character but then she got involved with the wrong people i prefered her when she was a nice cop

Kerry was my favourite as well as Sam, but more recently it has got to be Jo, she has sort of come out of know where with excellent performances of being in the force.

I like Debbie McAllister.. she was one everyone hated and was suppose to but grew to love especially with the whole Chandler story... Kerry and Cass are my other favs but you can't been June.. there since the start and has had great storyline

I've always loved Sam sinse I started watching and she attacked Sgt. Boyden!
My currant other favorites are Gina, Jo, Laura and Ramani
Some of the best past ones have been Debbie Mcallister, Claire Stanton, Liz Rawton, Kerry Holmes, Jo Morgan and Eva Sharpe.
