KATIE Holmes will have to suffer in silence while having Tom Cruise’s baby under the weird rules of Scientology.
The Sun can reveal that the controversial organisation believes pregnant women must remain silent during childbirth and shun painkilling drugs.
OMG! Do they really expect her to stay completly silent, without any painkillers, What the betting a man came up with this rule !

John Travolta and Kelly Preston have apparently advised Katie Holmes on how to have her baby.
The couple, who like Holmes' fiance Tom Cruise are members of the 'cult' church of Scientology, have suggested that the Dawson's Creek actress have a 'silent birth', meaning that the child comes into the world without music, background sounds or expressions of pain from the mother.
Theoretically, this method should ensure that the baby can adapt to its surroundings without a fuss.

katie seems to be doing everything that tom sais at the moment, wouldnt surprise me if she does! she converted to this for him !
yeah i think she will agree with it - just doing a test on the webiste to see if i could join the world of scientology and what they can do to better my life ......they ask some weird question :hmm:

so that the baby can enter the world and adjust with there being out sounds of pain from the mother!!

I would not know as i have never have had a child You can give birth without gas and air and drugs, I did it, I wanted a natural birth no drugs, it was painful but I didn't scream out. I can cope with pain, but alot of people can't. The sun article also said that john travola's partner did scream out in the end was allowed minimal amount of drugs to help.

I would never give birth without pain relief. I would take anything I could. I just wonder if Katie new about Tom's beliefs in Scientology before she fell pregnant
she converted to it almost as soons as they met and started dating, I herd a rumour that is was them that advised her to get pregnant as soon as they were engaged!

Well I dont know about childbirth as I had a c section with my daughter.But I think that if I would have had a normal Labour I would have wanted the drugs for pain relief.
omg! why should she do that? if theres painkillers then use them!

she can't express pain while in child birth? Are they being serious? They can't expect her to do that!! And with no dugs?! Oh dear lord, how are they expecting her to do that?!?!
I had no pain relief with either of my 2 boys (not by choice mind, I was just too quick!! lol) but i'm pretty sure i did a bit of shouting - every female deserves the choice though - I'd like to see Tom trying to give birth with no "animation" - oh this is sooo the time when you wish men could have children!!!

There is no way that any woman could surely have a silent birth, you have to grunt and scream and tell your other half what you think of them and that they never coming near you again, it is all part of it. To be silent is completey unnatural, must have been a man that made that up!!

i know.. but i am sure that katie ad the choice to say if she wanted to have a silent birth, which most mum's on here say which can not happened

who knows!!! at least she will be silent though! as you dont need to push ans scream throught that!! although i did chat all the way through mine, it was the only way top take my mind off it!

well i dont think they can do anything about it if she does NEED a c-section. Id like to see them try and stop it and risk a baby's life in the process.
Why is it good for a child to be borm to a mother repressing her natural instincts? I agree that very many people try to give birth naturally, and some succeed like Hazey. It is the silent aspect that I find bizarre, what about encoragement from the father and reassurance from the midwife? I didn't scream, but I did talk, gasp, grunt and moan. And my husband talked me through the whole thing.
I have just done the test that Luna talks about above. I don't think that I can be a very nice person!
some of the questions are a bit weird and they seem to try nd trip you up by repeating questions but wording them differently
