The Mitchell brothers are set to seize control of the Queen Vic in a sensational December storyline. EastEnders bosses are hoping the pair will reel in up to 20 million viewers for the Christmas Day episode and spark a seasonal ratings war with Coronation Street.

Grant and Phil get their mitts on the Vic after helping to nail landlady Chrissie Watts for the murder of husband Den. A soap insider told the Daily Star that a plot similar to the one used to expose Phil’s affair with Grant’s then-wife Sharon will finally snare Chrissie. Hopefully just in time to stop her heavily hairsprayed curls destroying the ozone layer over East London.

Desperate to sell the Queen Vic so she can escape Walford, Chrissie offloads it to Johnny Allen. But the sale falls through – with some help from the Mitchells. “Phil and Grant use their bully-boy tactics to get what they want. But they soon realise they have to be a bit more clever,” revealed the insider. “Chrissie finally believes that she’s sealed the deal, but it all goes down the pan because she forged Den’s signature to take control of the Vic.”

The tricksy Mitchells then record Chrissie as she admits to murdering Den and blackmail her into handing over the pub. Simple, eh?

Sounds exciting, though I was still holding out that Chrissie might get away with it. :(
Isn't the whole recording thing a bit similar to Sharongate? :searchme:

sounds like a repeat of 3 other christmas day episodes rolled into 1,i hope ee arnt relying on the mitchells to much cos they are a turn off for a lot of veiwers

I thought Chrissie and Sam are gone before christmas.

Chrissie blackmails Johnny into buying the Vic, Jake tells her he saw Johnny kill Andy Hunter and she blackmails Johnny with this information to buy the Vic. The Mitchells also find out about Johnny killing Andy and use this to get the Vic from Johnny.

ooooooh a tape to reveal the truth how cool , fab storyline but i think that eastenders sometimes copy what they have done before , with names to like den and dennis and mike and micky . anyway i think this will be a really good storyline and will sure boost the ratings up , corrys goin down .

I absolutely can not wait,it will be absolutely great!!
It's a shame that Chrissie gets caught,because she is absolutely fabulous,but the storyline sounds really really exciting!!

theres seems to be too many potholes in this spoiler:

1) chrissie and sam will have left by then

2) mitchell bros are back in october, grant only filiming for 3 weeks so how coiuld he still be there at xmas?
