View Full Version : Google to Broadcast TV
Internet giants GOOGLE are bidding to tighten their hold onto cyberspace- by showing TELE.
The company have already clinched a deal with a US TV channel and begin discussions with the BBC on offering the service.
HOW IT WILL WORK
Copies of shows will be stored on Googles internet servers
Users will go to video.google.com to search for the programmes
Once you select something to watch, it will be sent over the net to your screen
Surfers will be able to fast-forward, pause or rewind shows
Viewers will NOT be able to save shows onto their hard disk to save later

will you have to pay for the tv thing??
I don't know, but if you don't, it sounds like a really good deal!
well everything else about google is free so iuldn't have thought so
It didn't say anything about the fact that you would have to, so i'd expect that you dont. As she said, everything else to do with google is free, so it owuld be odd if this one thing you did have to pay for.
yeah... unless its sneaky charges
Maybe...
I guess that would make a lot of sense
well who offers tv for free??
Exactly, and if its the BBC then they get all the license fee so they would want money as well, which can't come from no where
yeah.... it's strange they'd offer it for free. there must be some kind of catch

If you have a TV card for your PC and this is your only television source, then you are still supposed to pay your TV license as if you had an actual TV set so I'm guessing you will be expected to pay the TV license fee as usual for this Google thing. It would be harder to keep track of though!
You never know what they're going to invent next though
yeah... next it'll be dvds!! i want tv on my pc, but i don';t really wa5tch much, so theres no point to getting one!!
