I won something off ebay almost two weeks ago now - i sat and waited for the auction to end so i could pay for it straight away and for it to be sent out straight away (its an xmas present and i needed it straight away to hide it) Anyway. I have not heard anything from the guy apart from the invoice. I have emailed him twice and had no reply. What do i do?? I've never had this problem before :searchme:

have you tried emailing him to ask him where its got too? if this doesnt work then contact ebay and tell them and they will look into it for you.

I'd contact ebay and get them to look into it - I've luckily never had this problem, but do worry that it may happen one day - that would be my advice though luna...

Jojo

Can't blame you - was it a lot of money?? I've never spent too much but then I have always ensured that I have paid by credit card on anything over £50 as then you can get your credit card company involved too......

Luna
29-09-2005, 16:58
Yeah i always do that to it was only £40 but thats not the point it's something my mum has wanted for ages and that was the only place i found it after months of searching

Jojo
29-09-2005, 17:01
oh no - how frustrating.......I hope they do sort it out for you. Would paypal be able to get involved at all??

Luna
29-09-2005, 17:01
Yeah i think they cover you up to £500 thankfully

Jojo
29-09-2005, 17:03
Still - not really the point though is it, if it took you ages to find it, its for your mum etc - its more about the principal of it all - keeping my fingers crossed for you :D

I dont go onto Ebay, because i'm always worried that this sort of thing will happen. I hope you get some luck soon, i agree thsat you should give them some negative feedback to make them buck their ideas up.

giving him negative feedback my just pee him off some more though and then he def wont send it? plus he will then give you neg back even though you have paid for it straight away he'd just do it out of spite i expect.let us know what ebay say, although they do take up to 48 hours for a reply.

If you paid through paypal you can get the transaction reversed. Small comfort i know, especially as it was something you desperately wanted, but at least you won't lose your money. Also i agree with the others, pull his contact details and ring him, if that fails leave neg feedback. If he leaves it back you get a chance to put a comment there, copy and keep the transaction details (minus any card details of course). Offer in reply to any negative feedback he leaves to show them to any prospective buyers or sellers to keep your reputation up.

Luna
Go to this link --------> http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQtZvbQQsofindtypeZ9 and request the sellers details.
Ebay will then send you their Name, Address & Telephone number.

If you still have no joy then you can open a "Item not received/not as described" dispute by clickin on this link -------> http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?inrCreateDispute

Do not neg them untill you have either heard from them or the dispute has been logged and unsettled, as ebay frown upon that if they are trying to resolve it and you go ahead and neg them.
But be prepared for a neg in return as in retaliation. But if you do get one you can leave a reply to it. Just be calm and factual, it wont harm you're buying or selling.
But you must neg if you feel fit to, so as to warn others.
----
Rain you can only get a transaction reversed if the paypal payment was furnished with a credit card.
But best to go to paypal first before doing it with you're c/c company
Try this link first http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/confid...ment-fraud.html
If the funds came from you're paypal account, they very rarely reverse it.
If however you did pay via paypal with a C/C then call you're credit card company and they should refund you and cancel the payment, even if it has gone from you're bank.
----
Do note if you do what i said in the last post ebay do charge a £15.00 fee for this service.
So you have to way up the pro's & con's before going ahead.

Could Rob please reply on here as to why i got a warning for not putting three posts into one, when one of the posts was written AFTER someone had replied to the original poster?
How can i make it into one post if i don't know what someone is going to say?????
Don't want to argue or get more warning points, but i don't understand why i have been warned for something that was impossible to forsee!!!
If anyone has a crystal ball i can borrow then maybe next time i will reply to people's posts before they have posted them!!!!!
Thank you.

Thank you. You posted one post at 13:55, another at 14:02, and the final one at 14:06. You could have easily posted them in one post, and I merged them into one post as you can see.

Nobody posted anything between the posts so it's not like you were having an on going conversation with anyone.

Posting 3 consecutive posts is totally unnessecary and is generally thought of as being solely to increase the posters post count.

Thanks luna, didn't know where to go so thought here was as good a place as any.
Did my links help at all?
Hope they did.
Glad you got it sorted if you did.
Sorry to hear you didn't if you didn't! (best to cover all eventualities in one post before somebody gets upset and power hungry and i get another completely pointless warning!!)

One of the posts on the thread was done while i was typing my first thread, and i didn't see it untill i had posted my post, hence why i didn't reply to it in the orignal post of mine.
Posting 3 posts isn't completely unnessecary if you think of something after you have posted that might be of benefit in helping the person with that problem.

Well as a moderator maybe you could tell people that.
How on earth would i know what that was for if i had never used it before.
For on OP you're not very nice rob!
Maybe try explaining to people rather than warning them for pointless things like this.
Very disapointed i must say.

What's an OP?

When you are warned, you are always told what you are being warned for in an email.

If you'd read the FAQ, more specifically this part (http://www.soapboards.co.uk/forums/faq.php?faq=vb_read_and_post#faq_vb_edit_posts), you would have seen how easy it is to edit your posts.

Rob was perfectly in his right to give a warning in this instance.

OK Closing.

If someone wants to start a thread on ebay tips and advise then do so, closing this one.
