legendary actor Phil Daniels will be joining EastEnders from early 2006

Phil will play Kevin Wicks, a charismatic family man who arrives in Walford in pursuit of his son Deano (Matt Di Angelo) who joins the show in December.

Any thoughts? :)

Phil Daniels is a very good actor, from comedy to Shakespeare. Good for EE for getting him.

Pat is very underused these days (as are a lot of the better characters) and I'm looking forward to seeing the Wicks family built up again. With all the characters that are leaving, it's good to see that plans are in motion to replace them. Great news!

I guess this means that they are trying to build up the family units again as Pat has been lost since Roy died. What would be this characters relation to Steven Beale as they may decide to bring this character back again (with a new face) like they did with Vicki, although if they did do this then I hope they do it better than they did with Vicki.

I saw him in a production of "A Clockwork Orange" a few years back. Absolutely brillinat actor. Will bring some much wanted "class" to the show.

i think this is brilliant news!!!!

can you spot something going on here...the watts/rickmans emerged one by one over time...

i can see the Wicks becoming a big regenrated family in Walford and the more and more that come the higher the chances that Steven, David and Simon might return

and also this all means more storylines for dear old pam st clement!!!! great stuff!!!!

oh bb, dont get me started on the possibility of a david wicks comeback *sigh :heart:

would very much welcome the return of the wicks - as long as they bring back michael french :D

I think it would be good if Steven came back, although I hope he would be less like the devil child that he was when he left.

I think I read in one of the lastest soap magazines that Michael French was going back to Holby, although I can't really remember so I have very little hope of him returning ever. :searchme:

Quadrophenia is my all time favorite move, I'm so excited about Phil joining the cast. What a star!! Just wait till you hear is accent, its gorgeous!!

Does anyone know what the relationship is with Phils character and Pat? Was he her ex-husbands brother?
