my mates house was haunted! It was so freaky!! In the end she moved to Australia!! (not coz of the ghosts!!) lol, when we were kids and had sleepovers we'd stay up late and if we heard noices we'd dive under the covers and play cards with only a torch for light so the ghosts couldn't get us! :rotfl: the house was bulit ontop of something or rather i dunno. But it was scarey!!

I put yes, ive seen a ghost, well it was my Grandad, i never got to see him when he became ill and went into hospital, i was pretty young, my brother saw him and his younger than me, but by the time i wanted to see him he was far to ill.
All i remember is waking up one night and there he was sat on the end of my bed and he came to say goodbye to me, i wasnt scared but looking back i cant believe i wasnt scared as he looked so ill. I described to my mum what he looked like ie: grey, very ill looking, and she said thats exactly how he looked in hospital. I guess thinking about it now, it was his way of just saying goodbye

I have felt many ghostly presences, seen white orbs, and ghostly figures, and what /i can only discribe as a white net whoosing pass at my sisters house. I saw my father in law that I had never met(died before met hubby) I discribed him to hubby and he went white.Aslo when I had my son,I was feeding him one evening sitting on the bed and my grandad that had died 24 years before was sitting on the chair,he smiled at me and my son and he was gone. I have never seen him again after that.

If i ever met a ghost i would be scared myself and i would hate to meet my dads ghost

Why hate?? I would love to do that. My scary experience was i was on a weekend visit with my dad and when i was getting on the bus to go back home i knew that would have been the last time id see him alive...dont ask me how i just knew. The next friday i had a funny feeling and came in from school and my gran took me aside before i could even get in the door. Before she could say anything i told her i knew he was dead but just didn't know how it happened. I was only 11 years old. I still dont know how or why i knew it was going to be the last time i saw him and how i knew that my gran was going to tell me he was dead.

I'd love to see my Dads ghost, or any of my families ghosts, dont get me wrong. I just get spooked. If i did ever see them then it would be great, but i know somehow that they are looking over me, so i dont really "need" to

i sometimes think our flat is haunted! i get very starnge feeling in the hallway like someone is behind me or there watching me!! and in my little bouys bedroom i get a very woierd feeling but only ever in his room, he aklways has disturbned sleep as well but sleeps perfect at my mums!!! we bbought him a new light the other day and oput a energy saving lightbulb in( the squiggly ones) well whilst sitting on here i saw that the light in his room went out ( our rooms are joinred) and when i went in the loightbulb was half out of the socket!! today it went out whilst noone was in ther and then 5 mins later came back on again!!!! do energy saving lights do that????

also connor once told me that had a friend called alice who played in his room, and when the little boy lived above us he used to say there was a girl in his room and a old lady!!1

sometimes i wondor if it just imagination but then other times im not sure!!

lol i'm like that a lot! i swear i wont look at it agina, and i always end up doingit.

I've always imagined them to be just like a white blur or somehting, but thats such a cliche that it can't be true cliche or not it is true I have seen white figures and you can clearly see the face and I have seen them in colour too, I was told by the spiritilist church that loved ones often come back in times of upset in your life to comfort,or happy times like weddings and births.I have never seen my dad (wish I did), but sometimes I can clearly smell Halls sweets on the landing, which were my dads favourite...The first time I was scared,But now I am ok with it. Only last week I was at the bottom of my stairs I looked up and there sitting on the top step was my deceased yorkshire terrier, I said hello Tammy and she was gone. I am not trying to scare anyone but believe my they do exist.

Abi

lol my boyf and I are both picies, so is my boyfs auntie who is a medium.

I'm sure our house is haunted so far i've only seen things out of the corner of my eye, and felt presences, my boyfs the same, his auntie told us that the house has a presence has somthing bad happened at the site our house is built on before our house came along. But she said its ok though as the person who she beleives is a women is there to make sure the same thing does not happen to anyone else. Also our dog will not stay in the conservatory anylonger then she needs to and gets freaked ifshe is in there for any lenghth of time.

She has also predicted plane crashes, I would never get on a plane if she told me not too.

My work is also hunted and really strange things have happend like things moving or disapearing and lights going off, with complete power cuts. I've look it up in the records off and a teacher once hung him self in the building (its an old school)

So i've put yes!

I'm thinking now that its not just specific areas that are haunted, but spirits wonder everywhere. It seems that loads of people have had "experiences" of them, and are definetly not mad, or making it up. To be honest, i'm really pleased to hear its not just be that thinks they exist, as people (like my mother) think i'm just dumb.

But somepeople don't think they excist because they rufuse to believe there is more to life than just getting born, living and then dying. And then there are those who just plainly don't believe!! And good for them! its there opinion!

I belive in ghosts primarily because we used to have one, which regulary thought it would come and see me. and threw things about according to my dad.

My mother decided it was freeking her out having an extra presence in the house (even tho it didnt harm us). so she got a priest around who blessed our water and then scattered it around the house. We never saw the ghosts agian. None of my family are religious but it leaves me thinkning did the priest set the ghost free that night or were we imagining it.?

The scientist that I am doesnt belive in either. and thinks she never existed, but I dont think sciecnce can prove evreything(which is probably a good thing, we'd appriciate life less if we knew everything, if we understood evrything and knew what would happen).

You know, to me, you have raised a really good point. Some of us claim to have seen a ghost, or ghosts, yet are we imagining it :hmm: Are we thining that there is some sort of presence, and perhaps 'see' them sometimes. I'm sceptical, I believe it kind of, but never truly unless I saw one. ThenI'd raise the question of, am I imagining it.

Thanks Cornish for making my thoughts/beliefs even more difficult  :p

The experiences I have are more feelings than actual seeing.

The main one we have is randomly, Liam's monitor which is plugged into the mains, switches itself off in his bedroom, which means I have to go upstairs and disturb him to turn it back on again. When I go in his room theres a chilly feel. I come downstairs, it switches off again, so when I go back up and turn it back on again, I ask who ever it is, to return when Liam is awake and not to keep disturbing him when hes asleep and reassure them that I've checked him and he is fine. The monitor doesn't switch off again after that! Its permanently on and doesn't switch off during the day at all. It doesn't switch off every day, but my hubby has said that when I am out of an evening shopping or something, it turns off more often than not.

I believe in ghosts, I was raised a catholic and when any of my relatives died their bodies would be kept at their home in an open casket before the funeral and we would be taken to see them.we were told that if we kissed a dead relative we would never have a bad dream. I remember when my granny died we were at home having breakfast before school and my mum was sitting in a chair but was talking to someone behind her. My brother asked her who she was talking to as we couldn't see anyone and she said it was her mum she had just come to say goodbye. 30 mins later the police arrived at the door to tell us that my granny had died and the first mothers day after my mum had died i woke up crying in the night but I couldn't lift myself up out of the bed as it felt like something was holding me.
