Premature means born before the due date....doesn't it?!

.:SpIcYsPy:.
30-09-2005, 18:27
I thought pre mature is when babies are born like a month before two-three weeks is ok right?

born before due date is premature but people have really premature babys that are born months before etc with the onset of a natural labour that they cant stop but im having a csec two weeks before its due so doesent really count as being called premature

.:SpIcYsPy:.

I think me two weeks :searchme:

Jojo
30-09-2005, 22:20
My eldest was induced 2 weeks early and my youngest was 2 weeks late.

Pregnancy generally lasts between 38-42 weeks - anything born prior to 38 can be technically classed as premature, but this is generally a term only used for babies born prior to 36 weeks.....

Just hurry up and spit it out girl. Just remember and demand the epidural its a sore injection but it works wonders. Have you got any names picked for a little girl yet.

Oooh I'm so excitied for you and I don't even know you but all this talk of babies brings back memories of my own daughter when she was born and now she is seven and it's still feels like yesterday when she was born.

You go girl and enjoy the miracle :)

long story but basically i went through 35 hours of labour with my first son at 17 and everything that could have went wrong went wrong and then his head got stuck so had to have c sec in the end which they buggered up and now some of my insides etc are stuck together making it quite dangerous when they cut me open as they have to be extra careful not to cut something they shouldnt but they only discovered how bad it was when i was having son number 2!
thats the basics but i could go on all night lol

I was like that with Marley I was 37 hours in labour and only 2 cm dilated the whole time and she got stuck in my pelvice so they decided to do an emergency C section and I had to have a lot of phyiso for about three months after she was born because there was damage to my pelvic area. I dread to think if i will be able to go through a natural birth if I fall pregnant again.

i was 8cm when i went in thats the stupid thing! they tried to send me home to telling me it was braxton hicks and i wouldnt give birth for another week yet! i also had pre eclampsia which they failed to notice.after i had him i was told id never be ever to give birth naturally which suits me just fine after the agony i went through first time around.

yeah i am,it will be totally different being a girl and that,i norm dont mind the hospital stay either but il be trying my hardest to get out asap with all the talk of mrsa etc, they have just recently re opened one of the wards in my hosp as seven babys were found to have traces of mrsa.now all babys are being tested for it as they are born!
as well as that i have 2 children at home so will be trying to get out of there pretty sharpish for them as well.plus when ive been in there the last two times i had lots of visitors etc and my other half and son came in every day and stayed for ages but it will be more diffucult for him to do that this time as he will have the two boys with him and my youngest is only 18 months so would be running riot in a hospital.so think i may get pretty bored.

I would have thought his school would have made allowances for the situation - especially as he is doing so well - don't listen to her - you've got more important things to think about and at least he is going, its not as if he is having the whole day off......

I think we should have a countdown, especially for the occasion!!!! So as soon as we log on, we get a pop up saying # days till Chances baby's born!!! What do you reckon! :rotfl: I am no help at all am I ?!?! Sorry

my last one was my last one!! and she was not really a baby for very long!! i missed out on a heck of a lot with her as i had to go back to work when she was 10 weeks old

Jojo
04-10-2005, 13:47
I had to do that with my eldest - went back full time when he was 12 weeks and vowed never to do it again. Its only now I realise how much I missed out on when I watch my youngest growing up (and he's only 3, so not so little any more). At least now with working from home, I get the best of both worlds, stay at home with the children and still earn money :)
