Simon Cowell has sparked a furious row between three childhood friends who auditioned for The X Factor.

In last night's episode of the talent show, viewers saw TV's Mr Nasty urge 21-year old Becky Fairclough to ditch her fellow members of Stiletto and audition by herself.

After the trio performed their own version of The Corrs' Runaway, Cowell said, "I like you, Becky, but you've got the wrong two partners. You should come back on your own."

Becky decided to take Simon up on his offer, and was quickly put through to the next round.

However, the budding singer's decision infuriated her two friends, Nicole and Emily.

"They were incensed after Becky got to the finals - they felt she'd deserted them," a source told The People. "They had a huge screaming match. Some guys split them up as they feared it would turn violent. Simon's caused life-long pals to fall out

If they are true friend's wouldnt they be happy for her? I understand why they think she deserted them, but you cant always think about other people and who knows she might make it big one day :D

he was just being honest, he didnt cause it Simon will be blamed if they catch a cold soon, he was blame for the other ones breakdown. If they were that good friends it won't be a problem, if it had been me. I would have gone for it and if I got famous, you never forget your friends, and would find them a job, so we could all be together again, even if it wasn't singing together.

They looked happy enough for her on the show. They are just jealous. As a group they were knocked back, they had already got their marching orders before she had the separate audition.

Ben interviewed them on the xtra factor just before the girl went back in on her own

and one of the girls was really nice about it and said she was pleased but the other had a face like thunder. When Ben asked her how she felt about Becky going in on her own - she said she would rather not say because it's not what they wanted to hear

they should have just been happy for her if she was a true mates they would be happy and support her! lol

simon is really out of order. He has no right to play God with peoples lives. I didnt think that group were so bad compared to some of the others.

i really hate simon cowell he is just a big head who no one loves but himself and one day he is going to be a very lonely man because he only has girlfriends at the moment who use him for his money, he is a unlokes and unloved person
