Paramedic Woody has a reputation for being a ladies' man, but his promiscuous past comes back to haunt him this week when an old flame shows up - with a son who could be his!
'Woody's in for a real shock!' says Will Thorp, who plays him. 'He's called out to help a 10-year old boy whose leg is trapped behind a ladder in a swimming pool. The boy, Matt, is really sweet, and they end up getting on well. Matt takes a shine to Woody, especially as he keeps giving him advice on charming girls!'
But when Matt's mother, Susan, turns up she takes an instant dislike to Woody. When Matt's taken to hospital to have his broken leg treated, Susan tells the nurses she doesn't want Woody anywhere near her son.
'Woody thinks it's strange, he recognises Susan but can't remember where from,' says Will. 'He's certain he knows her and won't let it drop.'
Later, Woody sneaks in to see Matt, as the youngster's desperate to see him.
'Matt tells Woody that his broken leg means he won't be able to go camping - and then suddenly it comes back ot him,' continues Will. 'He remembers he met Susan at a music festival 10 years ago when he was 17. She invited him to her tent and the rest is history!'
But after the delight at remembering who Susan is, he then realises something else. He slept with her just over 10 years ago - and Matt is 10'
Could this mean that Woody is a father?
'Everything clicks into place,' says Will. 'There's more to come in this storyline.'
